Role Overview: As the Manager of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) for Canada, you will play a pivotal role in advancing our DEI strategy within the Canada ensuring alignment with our global DEI initiatives. Reporting to the Head of DEI for Canada, you will collaborate closely with colleagues from the global DEI team to drive inclusive practices and foster a culture of belonging across all levels of Manulife.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategy Alignment:
Partner with the Head of DEI for Canada to develop and execute the Canadian DEI strategy, ensuring alignment with our global DEI objectives.
Apply regional nuances and insights to enhance the effectiveness and integrity of our DEI initiatives in Canada.
Research and stay informed of key trends and best practices related to DEI incorporating them within our Manulife policies and practices.
Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) Management:
Oversee and manage Canadian ERGs, including succession planning for ERG co-chairs and onboarding of ERG sponsors.
Support ERGs in developing and executing strategic plans, tracking metrics, and facilitating activations throughout the year.
Act as the primary contact for ERGs in Canada, providing guidance, resources, and support as needed.
Canadian Activations and Initiatives:
Support the rollout of Canadian DEI activations, including observances, awareness campaigns, and events commemorating dates of significance in Canada.
Progress the work to develop an Indigenous Reconciliation Plan by co-creating an action plan with our strategic partners and working with our internal stakeholders.
Collaborate with the communications team to develop integrated communication plans and ensure consistent messaging across all channels.
Manage submissions for Canadian awards.
Reporting & Regulatory Compliance:
Supports the regulatory compliance requirements, including data relevant to diversity, equity and inclusion, for Canada including but not limited to Workplace Equity Information Management System (WEIMS).
Responsible for contributing to cadenced DEI reporting and metrics in partnership with our internal business partners.
Strategic Partnerships:
Manage relationships with strategic partners and community organizations in Canada to establish and maintain productive partnerships.
Identify opportunities to leverage partnerships to bring resources, tools, and educational opportunities that promote a culture of inclusion within the organization.
Requirements:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in diversity, equity, and inclusion roles, preferably within a global organization or Human Resources or related field.
Strong understanding of DEI concepts, industry best practices and experience implementing DEI initiatives.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across diverse teams and stakeholders.
Demonstrated project management skills and ability to drive results in a fast-paced environment.
Commitment to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion in the workplace and beyond.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a related field; Human Resources, Humanities, Business. Nice to have

Salary range is expected to be between
$84,375.00 CAD - $151,875.00 CADIf you are applying for this role outside of the primary location, please contact [email protected] for the salary range for your location. The actual salary will vary depending on local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience, and education/training. Employees also have the opportunity to participate in incentive programs and earn incentive compensation tied to business and individual performance.
