The analytics team is seeking a talented candidate in Chicago for the role of Lead Visualization Analyst, an intelligent, results-oriented, passionate self-starters to join our global team. The role would be responsible for leading and guiding a strategic path forward for data visualization and data democratization. Working closely with stakeholders and providing thought leadership for KPIs, measurements, conceptual implementations on incorporating advance data science or analytical approaches to dashboarding. This position will be highly rewarding and lots of fun. What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Passionate storytelling and bringing data to life though dashboards.
  • Lead visualization roadmap and partner with a team of visualization developers to drive innovations, consistency, and incorporate new techniques.
  • Plan capacity, sprint planning, and prioritization with stakeholders to ensure work is balanced with strategic path forward and enhancements to existing dashboards.
  • Partner closely with stakeholders, engineering and analytics teams to gather requirements and ensure appropriate KPIs are being tracked and identify any additional opportunities to enable compelling and innovative dashboards.
  • Spearhead change management of dashboards and internal reporting to educate stakeholders, perform dashboard roadshows, encourage adoption, and bring awareness to releases and enhancements.
  • Build proof of concept dashboards, best practices and design principles to generate ideas and inspire the development team.
  • Participate externally with Tableau or other communities, stay close to industry trends, and join or help facilitate public talks regarding dashboarding, analytics, and reporting innovation.
  • Influence partners and senior leaders and ensure primary support contact for all reporting-related questions.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Relevant Bachelor’s or Master's degree in any of the following fields: computer science, statistics, mathematics, physical sciences with strong understating of data analytics.
  • 8+ years of work experience in a relevant business environment.
  • Proficiency in SQL (to feel comfortable manipulating data, creating scripts that combine different data sources and interpret results) and Python/R. Experience using Adobe Analytics/Omniture is a plus.
  • Strong experience using Tableau to pull data from various sources, develop and publish automated reports and dashboards.
  • Relish in solving problems and finding patterns and insights within structured and unstructured data.
  • Ability to perform in a fast-paced environment and be comfortable with ambiguity. A sharp focus on results and solid attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal, written communication, and data presentation skills.
  • Deep understanding of data and reporting requirements, with the ability to collaborate on analytics models, reporting tools, and return on investment analysis.

The US national annual base salary range for this position is from $50,000 to $100,000.  The national range provided includes the base salary that GBT expects to pay for the role.  Actual base salary will be based on factors including the scope and complexity of the role and the successful candidate’s relevant experience, skills, knowledge, and work location.
