Our Commercial Lasers Business Unit is currently looking for a Automatic Technician willing to join our growing Operations team in Ljubljana, Slovenia. Being part of the Equipment Maintenance team. The chosen candidate should bring into the team a combined skill & expertise set on electrical, mechanical and automation field. 

The chosen candidate’s main responsibility is to work on improving existing automation systems and developing new ones. You will support and maintain production equipment of high technology MCVD production system, Fiber Draw tower and Measurement laboratory which produce fiber for laser modules.

Key responsibilities and tasks:

  • Development SCADA systems
  • Perform PLC/ microcontrollers programming, preferably with Beckhoff TwinCAT (a couple of years of experience)
  • Diagnose and repair issues with mechanical, electrical, and software components of Beckhoff control systems
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate new technologies
  • Participation in various plant improvement programs, including but not limited to:
    • 6s Workshops
    • Kaizen
    • PM Workshops
    • Health and Safety Events
  • Performing production daily maintenance.
  • Order parts, supplies, and equipment from catalogs and suppliers, or obtain them from storerooms
  • Conducts other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements:

  •  
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, or related field (Vegova - Mechatronic,...).
    • 1-3 years’ experience preferably in a machining and maintenance environment may be a plus.
    • Use of computer tools (knowledge of CAD programs, SEE Electrical (Caddy++) or Eplan)
    • Knowledge of digital circuits
    • Test driven programming
    • Experience with Beckhoff TwinCAT and PLC programming.
    • Proficient in the use of Beckhoff TwinCAT software for programming, diagnostics, and troubleshooting. Knowledge of Ethernet communication protocols and PLC programming
    • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical manuals.
    • Computer literate with skills in spreadsheets, word-processing and E-mail software.
    • Must be a team player
    • Excellent communication and organizational skills
    • Good verbal and written understanding of English
