At Klaviyo, you’ll work in the kind of high-growth environment that offers unlimited potential. The potential to be a driving force that achieves even greater business outcomes, and the potential to coach and mentor the next generation of Product Managers. Klaviyo’s fast growth will ensure that opportunities abound. Please note that this role is located in Boston and requires a 3x/week in office component. Fully remote candidates will not be considered.

About the Team

Consumer-driven marketers spend a significant amount of time optimizing customer journeys and tuning their marketing strategy to best merchandise their catalogs for both new and returning customers:

  • What products are most often purchased first, or if bought first lead to the highest LTV, so I know what to promote to those interested in exploring my brand for the first time?
  • Do I have an opportunity to upsell or cross sell certain products together, to drive up average order value?
  • How can I identify & promote products that were added a while ago but aren’t selling on their own, to reduce stock and help with inventory management?

The Catalog Insights Team’s mission is to answer these questions and more, arming Klaviyo customers with the data they need to drive sustainable business growth through efficient and effective product placement. Beyond analytical views, this team is also highly focused on actionability: finding creative ways for customers to go from catalog insight to revenue-driving marketing action in a matter of clicks. This is a new team at Klaviyo with greenfield potential to drive impact for our customers and the greater company.

About the Role

As the Product Manager for our Catalog Insights team, your mission is to revolutionize the way businesses understand and take action around customer purchasing patterns at the SKU and category level. In this role, you will be responsible for meaningfully advancing our Catalog Insights product area, a cornerstone in Klaviyo’s newer advanced analytics offering. You will spearhead team vision and strategy, stemming from an understanding of core customer needs, then translate those needs onto a roadmap that will rapidly mature this emerging area to accelerate business impact.

Who You Are:

  • 4+ years of product management experience
  • Enjoys working on analytical problem spaces
  • Preferred experience working on reporting & analytics products
  • Are passionate about Product as a craft, and love building amazing B2B SaaS products
  • Resourceful and flexible when faced with greenfield opportunities
  • Track record of owning products and delivering impact with quantifiable measures of success

How You’ll Make a Difference:

  • The ultimate measure of success for Product Managers at Klaviyo is driving business outcomes. That’s why we focus on tracking, analyzing, and improving metrics for each area of our product, with a steadfast focus on driving the results we target.
  • We cannot build products that exceed our customer’s expectations without truly understanding those customers. That’s why Product Managers at Klaviyo spend a significant amount of time interacting with customers, internal or external. At Klaviyo, knowledge about our customers is power.
  • Product Managers at Klaviyo think deeply, quickly, and analytically. The rigor of thought is extreme here so we can ensure we’re making the best decision possible at all times. You should love to tease out problems, break them down to small, digestible pieces, and put them back together elegantly.
  • Someone who joins Klaviyo must be exceptional at articulating their thinking through the written word. As a company, our success is gated on collectively being great and prolific communicators.

What You’ll Do:

  • Manage and evangelize a roadmap - You will prioritize all potential projects for your product area—after synthesizing customer feedback, business context, competitive or market context, and any other relevant inputs—and focus on those with the largest impact. You will evangelize your work through effective storytelling, collaborating with all teams within the company and all parties outside of the company to be most effective in your role.
  • Translate complex problems into elegant solutions - You will define the customer problems we need to solve, who we are solving them for, and what it means to solve those problems. You will explore all angles of a problem space to ensure we move iteratively in the right direction, writing clear and comprehensive requirements artifacts in collaboration with your team to guide new work forward.
  • Ship features - You will get value into customer hands. For all of the work that goes into planning and coordination, we stay focused on delivering improved solutions and experiences every day. You will work agilely, but also sweat the details. You are passionate about making sure that every experience is understood, anticipated, and optimized for desired usage and adoption outcomes.
  • Learn - You will be a voracious learner.  A lack of experience or knowledge around a challenge is an invitation to dive deep and become an expert in that area. You should love learning and tackling new challenges.

Your First 90 Days

In your first 30 days, you will get acclimated to Klaviyo and our product:

  • During the first two weeks, you will be immersed in an onboarding program that introduces you to the company and the product.
  • Spend time in Support, helping customers work through issues.  There’s no better way to get a holistic understanding of the product, and to get to know our customers.
  • Be introduced to everyone you will need to know in order to be successful in your role.

In your first 60 days, you will become a valuable member of the team:

  • Take ownership of a key area of the product, and become the go-to expert for that area.
  • Have a quick impact by spec’ing and building your first product features.

In your first 90 days, you will continue to increase your influence:
