Data Scientist

Conducts statistical analyses for client reports and publications, performs advanced statistical programming and biostatistical analyses and utilizes findings, and insights for practical application to further business operations, come across innovative findings and discoveries for solution and product development.

Responsible for data extraction, transformation and loading between different systems and databases, designs and develops programming methods, processes, and systems to consolidate and analyze unstructured, diverse "big data" sources to generate actionable insights and solutions for client services and product enhancement.

Develops and codes software programs, algorithms and automated processes to cleanse, integrate and evaluate large datasets from multiple disparate sources; identifies meaningful insights from large data and metadata sources; interprets and communicates insights and findings from analysis and experiments to product, service, and business managers. Interacts primarily with internal stakeholders.

JOB OVERVIEW

Responsible for the initial technical & business analysis, deployment and testing of the solution.  The deployment encompasses both the implementation of this solution in a broad range of hospitals and the collaboration with existing system vendors for these stakeholders. The systems are primarily in the areas of medical, pharmaceutical and life sciences, and as such, require a strong understanding of related security considerations and practices.

Responsibilities:

  • Engages with a range of health care providers (HCP) and stakeholders (IT departments, pharmacists, hospital management etc.) to:
  • Understand and evaluate the current system landscape (Electronic Medical Record extractions, clinical trials data, healthcare outcomes data, PACS, RIS.
  • Document a high-level model of clinical workflows, events, data and context where relevant to the scope of engagement
  • Understand the current Service Management and scope of Service Providers
  • Defines the fit and customisation requirements for the implementation of the technical solution and Service Management within the Healthcare Provider (HCP)
  • Documents the local customization requirements for the solution with the HCP
  • Acts as the local person for testing and validating the centrally developed solution for the HCP (i.e. translations, validity of business rules, etc.)
  • Supports the engagement with third party system vendors to:
  • Understand the functionality of the systems
  • Identify the ability of our solution to integrate with the systems
  • Manage the relationship with the technical team of the vendor
  • Create and maintain the service management design for the vendor
  • Carries out a structured gap analysis between the current and target states of the processes and systems of health care providers and information system vendors
  • Create and keep up to date technical library for each deployed solution at an HCP (technical, clinical and Service Management)
  • Maintains and keeps up to date all relevant information in the Service Management (ITSM) and CRM tools.

Requirements:

  • Typically requires 2 - 3 years of prior relevant experience
  • Prior experience of healthcare information systems and healthcare / life sciences / clinical trials / pharma data
  • Experience of ITIL in particular the following disciplines Service Introduction, Change Management and Service Improvement
  • Typical background will be Business Systems Analyst, Technical Project Manager, Implementation Consultant, Healthcare Application Consultant
