About the Role:

The Dow Jones Strategic Initiatives team is seeking an intern who is willing to work for a best-in-class media company that is evolving at a rapid rate. Our team needs a smart, motivated intern who can help our Live Journalism and Events team grow through projects that are strategic, innovative and cutting-edge. You will report into the current Associate on the team. 

This role is hybrid, based in our New York City office.

You Will:

  • Devote your internship to building competitive intelligence analyses, iterating on existing products, and exploring trends and key market research that will be of utmost importance to the Dow Jones’ Live Journalism and Events team.

  • Conduct competitive research by attending and participating in events across industries 

  • Research relevant emerging platforms, technologies and companies 

  • Identify potential partnership and sponsorship opportunities across our portfolio  

  • Create trend and forecasting reports on the live events and the broader media landscape

  • Assist product management of existing products by working across different teams

  • Attend internal events to gain a deep understanding of the WSJ Live Journalism business

  • Work with senior leaders to brainstorm new and existing products to enhance and improve our events

  • Work with other Live Journalism Interns on a capstone project 

You Have:

  • Completed at least three years of education toward your bachelor’s degree 

  • A self-starter attitude and resourcefulness 

  • Passion about new trends in the news and media industries

  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment

  • Strong analytical, strategic, and creative problem-solving skills

  • Ability to speak publicly and collaboration across all levels and teams

  • Basic knowledge of Google Suite platforms like Google Docs, Sheets and Slides

Salary: $25.00/hour
