The Team: The S&P Global Commodity Insights Consulting practice is recognized for its regional and global expertise. We work with clients to develop strategies, assess markets to support investment decisions and conduct commercial & economic evaluations. Our clients include, integrated energy companies, utilities, governments, infrastructure players and investors in the energy value chain.
Responsibilities and Impact:
This role will drive the growth of our consulting work in large cross-sectoral energy and climate initiatives. The principal focus will be on external client engagements but the role will also require working with our internal research and product teams to help turn consulting learnings into new products and services. It will involve significant engagement with senior level clients within the Middle East region and beyond. Responsibilities include:
Identify and develop new business opportunities
Develop proposals and presentations.
Effectively manage significant workstreams within large projects in the EMEA region and/or globally, under the direction of the project director. The candidate will eventually be expected to manage entire projects as part of their development in the role.
Reflect and communicate complex and opaque client needs with associated solutions using a variety of tools to support business development and deliver projects.
Work with internal research and product development teams to identify new product opportunities related to energy transition.
Support and prepare for presentations to senior leadership across the energy value chain.
Coach junior consulting team members and eventually manage a team as we expand
Challenge ideas and influence others in the team
What We’re Looking For:
Basic Required Qualifications and Capabilities:
Minimum bachelor’s degree in relevant subject.
More than 10 years of experience in industry, consulting, or commercial environments, in areas related to energy industry
Deep knowledge of issues related to climate, emissions and the energy transition
Significant experience of working directly with senior level clients
Strong organizational skills; ability to ‘get things done’ within complex environments
Excellent written and oral presentation skills in English, particularly with MS PowerPoint and MS Word
Ability to influence and persuade senior client stakeholders.
Willingness to travel; some travel is required at up to 30% of time on average, mainly within region
Additional Preferred Qualifications and Capabilities:
Knowledge of SPGCI products and services related to energy markets and energy transition
A desire to move into line management, or expand line management experience long term.
