Salary Range:

$139,000.00 - $181,000.00

What’s the role?

The International Operations Senior Manager will be responsible for developing strategies and customer solutions that support operational priorities and compliance with regulations in global markets where Etsy operates. This person will be responsible for project management of compliance with laws and regulations, including recycling and packaging laws in France, Germany, and other territories. This person may also develop plans and lead projects for other international operations, regulatory, and/or compliance matters at the direction of the International, Legal, or other teams.

What's this team like?
To succeed in this role, the International Operations Senior Manager will serve as a point person for operations, project management and strategy related to the company’s international regulatory compliance efforts. They will build and execute on a roadmap, liaise with product, legal, international and other teams, and communicate with external stakeholders on requirements.

This is a full-time position reporting to the VP, Marketplace Initiatives. In addition to salary, you will also be eligible for an equity package, an annual performance bonus, and our competitive benefits that support you and your family as part of your total rewards package at Etsy. 

This role requires your presence in Etsy’s Brooklyn Office once or twice per week depending on your proximity to the office. What does the day-to-day look like?

  • Interpreting, understanding, and conveying Etsy’s obligations related to international laws and regulations, including specific compliance measures to be taken; and keeping informed of any changes to existing regulations or implementation of new regulations

  • Developing project plan for compliance with various international laws and regulations, and updating project plan with any changes to existing regulations or implementation of new regulations

  • Leading analytical work with internal teams to understand impact of operational matters and/or regulations on Etsy’s marketplace

  • Project managing relevant product and marketing teams responsible for updating buyer and or seller experiences relevant to compliance and operations, including identifying and developing updates to seller onboarding and listing experiences

  • Developing and drafting external communications plans for seller and/or buyer education

  • Partnering with the International and Legal teams on responding to third-parties, including regulatory bodies and other organizations, including interacting directly with those third parties

  • Tracking progress, reviewing data, providing regular updates on compliance status and efforts

    change from time to time at Etsy's discretion, or otherwise applicable with local law

Qualities that will help you thrive in this role are:

  • 8+ years of experience in compliance, finance, accounting, process, or project management

  • Experience in leading complex projects with multiple partners, including collaborating closely between teams

  • Deep understanding of international regulatory obligations and requirements for marketplaces and sellers

  • Strong finance and analytics skills

  • A track record for designing and implementing processes and procedures at publicly traded companies

  • An ability to think strategically while maintaining attention to detail, organization and accuracy

  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills; organizational and delegation skills

  • Highly adaptable, self-sufficient, and able to work in a global team environment

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent required
