The House Supervisor is responsible for administrative supervision of nursing services on their assigned shift. This individual supervises and coordinates activities of nursing personnel to maintain continuity of patient care; provides professional nursing care to patients within assigned unit and is part of Hospital nursing leadership. This position must integrate company values into daily practice

his position is full time and will work 3 12-hour night shifts Friday, Saturday and Sunday

Job Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Provides overall supervision of staff, tasks, and workflow on the units and the hospital and coordinates the care of patients during assigned shift. Ensures proper shift level and timeliness and quality of work performed.
  • Coordinates with nursing staff and leadership to manage attendance having first-level responsibility to find staff to cover open shifts.
  • Collaborates on hiring, employee training and development, investigations, performance assessment, and retention of assigned staff, including participating in or initiating counseling and disciplinary actions.
  • Assists with direct patient care nursing responsibilities during high flow work times, and accepts patient assignments as needed.
  • Participates as part of the Nursing Leadership team in quality and compliance initiatives to include audits, summaries, analysis of data, and follow up, providing leadership during and after incidents and other urgent situations, to include critique, root cause analysis, and incident reporting.
  • Provides an environment conducive to safety for patients, visitors, and staff.  Assess the risks for safety and implements appropriate precautions.  Complies with appropriate and approved safety standards.
  • May be required to work during inclement weather and other staffing emergencies.

Requirements for consideration:

  • Current state Registered Nurse license required.
  • Bachelor's of Science degree in Nursing preferred.
  • One (1) year recent nursing supervisory experience in a charge nurse role required.
  • Experience in rehabilitation and/or acute care setting preferred.
  • Current BLS Certification required.
