Under the direct supervision of the Budget Director, the Senior Budget Analyst analyzes financial data and develops complex reports for forecasting and results analysis. Position may train others in budget related processes and procedures.
Daily Operations
- Review and analyze budget information prepared by departmental users and assist in the preparation of the annual operating budget.
- Conducts complex work assignments and problem resolution with stakeholders.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Principal Responsibilities:
Analyzes financial data and develops complex reports
- Review and analyze budget data, identifying gaps and finding data to answer key questions.
- Develop, validate and communicate financial metrics.
- Assist in financial studies regarding projected changes in revenue and expenditures.
Conducts complex work assignments and problem resolution
- Conduct analysis of the financial performance and operations of peer Institutions to identify potential improvement opportunities.
- Performs complex work assignments and problem resolution to support business decisions using advanced analysis techniques and tools to support the preparation and management of the College’s operating budgets and planning.
Prepares financial and cost accounting reports
Perform other duties as assigned

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Excellent analytical and organizational skills in a multi-tasking environment
- Knowledge and experience with business process / data modeling software, Workday, Adaptive Planning, mastery of Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, charting, etc.) and PowerPoint.
- Ability to independently complete projects on time and accurately with minimal supervision
- Ability to work closely and effectively with senior College officials and colleagues.
Required Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, finance or economics; master’s degree in business-related field preferred.
- Minimum of five (5) years finance / accounting experience required. Additional education may be substituted for some experience. Academic Healthcare experience a plus. Proficiency in the use of software applications, databases, spreadsheets, and word processing software required.
