Northrop Grumman Mission Systems sector is seeking a Principle Technical Services Project Manager to join our team of qualified and diverse individuals. This position will be located in Charlottesville, VA and will report to the Manager of Operations Project Management.

This position will be responsible for performing various duties on assigned programs, which include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Leads and directs one or more project teams in the professional services arena. 
  • Prepares project execution plan and coordinates activities between client and company personnel.  Monitors project completion from initiation through delivery to meet revenue and cost projections. 
  • Oversees performance of projects or engagements and typically utilizes management skills more than technical skills.  Provides technical and analytical guidance to project team(s).
  • Reviews status of projects and budgets; manages schedules and prepares status reports.
  • Assesses project issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and customer-satisfaction goals and objectives.
  • Develops mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem solving with project managers, operations management, and customers.

Basic Qualifications: 

  • Typical Minimum Education or Experience – 5+ year with manufacturing, business systems, program, project or related with Bachelors; 3+ year with manufacturing, program, project or related Years with Masters
  • Knowledge of Earned Value Management System (EVMS) or Control Account Management (CAM) techniques, which includes program cost and schedule management.
  • U.S. citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense (DoD) Secret security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Business Management, Business Administration, Communications or other related field.
  • Demonstrated experience as an Operations Project Manager, Project Manager or Engineering Program Manager in leading a team of engineering and/or production personnel in military grade product manufacturing or repair.
  • Experience with SAP or other Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system.
  • Proficiency in Risk and Opportunity management
  • Experience with basis of estimates, proposal generation and EAC development.

Salary Range: $92,600.00 - $139,000.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
