The Manager, People & Culture Communications will play a critical role in positioning Prudential as an employer of choice with employees and candidates. The Manager will drive key strategic efforts to enhance the impact of Prudential’s Employee Value Proposition, working in alignment with the overarching People & Culture communications strategy. The role will entail working in close partnership with colleagues and senior leaders across the Company to effectively highlight Prudential’s Employee Value Proposition internally and in the candidate marketplace, including through earned and owned content. This role reports to the Director, People & Culture Communications. 

The current EWA for this position is Hybrid and requires your on-site presence on a reoccurring basis as determined by your business. Your manager will provide additional details relative to the specific number of days you are expected to be on-site.  

What you can expect: 

  • Develop and execute on strategies to activate our employer brand and Employee Value Proposition with internal and external audiences, including through executive voice. 

  • Partner with stakeholders in the business and corporate functions to identify content that makes for compelling content with employees, candidates, and media, and create and execute on strategies to leverage it with those audiences. 

  • Identify opportunities for earned media on People & Culture-related topics and serve as media point of contact.  

  • Build an approach and resources for employees across the enterprise to act as ambassadors for Prudential on social media, particularly LinkedIn. 

  • Work collaboratively across the communications team to maximize the reach and impact of People & Culture-related content.  

  • Support other People & Culture initiatives, including narrative and key message development, content strategy, stakeholder engagement and others as relevant, 
     

What you’ll need:  

  • 7+ years of professional communications experience, including within a communications agency. 

  • Demonstrated ability to identify and tell corporate stories in a compelling way to different audiences across a variety of channels. 

  • Strong experience with developing executive communications content and strategy, particularly on LinkedIn and through owned media.  

  • Understanding of or experience working on employer brand and/or Employee Value Propositions. 

  • Media relations skills, including proactive pitching, building media lists, analyzing incoming opportunities, and relationship building. 

  • Ability to analyze and identify trends in the media and thought leadership landscape  and propose compelling opportunities to engage in (or lead) the conversation. 

  • Strong capacity to influence without authority.  

  • Impeccable attention to detail and outstanding writing and editing skills, with experience writing for both leadership and general employee audiences. 

  • Collaborative, team-first mentality, including exceptional organization in planning, prioritizing, and completing simultaneous projects and activities. 

  • Discretion working with confidential information. 

It'd be a plus if you had:  

  • Relationships with relevant media contacts.  

  • Experience with video, podcasts and visual storytelling. 

  • Ability to work in high pressure situations, demonstrating sound judgment and providing confident, proactive counsel to leadership and other internal team members. 

  • Proven ability to effectively partner cross-functionally, ideally in a complex organization. 

  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Suite: Word, Teams, SharePoint file-sharing, PowerPoint, and occasional Excel.

Note: Prudential is required by state specific laws to include the salary range for this role when hiring a resident in applicable locations. The salary range for this role is from $115,800.00 to $172,300.00. Specific pricing for the role may vary within the above range based on many factors including geographic location, candidate experience, and skills. Roles may also be eligible for additional compensation and/or benefits. Eligibility to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program is subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance. In addition, employees are eligible for standard benefits package including paid time off, medical, dental and retirement.
