Job Description

Position Overview:

We need a diverse workforce to do our best work. We need the makers, the forward thinkers, the problem solvers, and everything in between. That is where you come in. We are looking for a electro-mechanical systems engineer for our 3rd party motor, robotics, and actuator integration program. You will validate system components, establish requirements, create operational files, evaluate performance, and develop proof of concept for applications assigned. You will be the expert and manage both technical and commercial aspects of 3rd party integration program. This will be a dynamic role that requires prioritization and project management. You will report to the global business manager for Kinetix Servo Drives and work with business management, our sales organization, field domain experts, and strategic partners/customers. You will work with the management team to help recommend marketing opportunities consistent with our goals while achieving overall portfolio revenue and helping our customers.

In today's demanding business world, companies always look for a faster way to deliver enhanced machines to meet customer goals. Our Rockwell Automation Motion Control hardware and software helps facilitate the machine design process, simplify integration and speed the time to market.

We offer servo drives, servo motors and actuators that simplify machine design and provide control that improves system flexibility and overall performance. These automation systems often include multi-axis Robotics and innovative approaches such as linear motor technologies that use magnets instead of gear/chains and belts. Our multi-discipline control environments coordinate these technologies in one seamless and orchestrated manner.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Be the technical expert for 3rd party product integration of servo motors, linear actuators, and robotic solutions
  • Use engineering resources to create and verify operational files for 3rd party integration
  • Build and manage integration resources (files, tools etc.) required for the program
  • Help define and test pre- and post release hardware/software
  • Develop test plans, create estimates, complete test suites and test cases to ensure appropriate functional test coverage is attained for complex integration projects
  • Work on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires in-depth evaluation of variable technical factors
  • Be the primary contact for commercial escalations from partners and domain experts
  • Support the sales teams with pre- and post-sales 3rd party integration technical activities
  • Develop internal processes to guide program continuous improvement and awareness
  • Develop program marketing collateral and help manage partner relationships
  • Expected to maintain technical expertise and commercial awareness of Rockwell Automation products and the industrial automation marketplace
  • Keep current on industry trends and changing market regulatory requirements
  • Analyze competitive solutions, understand user work flows and develop comparisons

The Essentials - You Will Have:

  • Bachelor's Degree Computer Science, Engineering, or similar discipline.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 10% of the time
  • Legal authorization to work in the US is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening

The Preferred - You Might Also Have:

  • Typically requires 8+ years demonstrated experience supporting industrial automation applications
  • Knowledge of Rockwell Automation products, including: PLCs, Motion Control, Operator Interface, Networking / Communication, Information Software, Safety and I/O
  • Direct experience with general Servo Motion Control or Robotics applications
  • Experience with 3D CAD and Simulation Environments
  • Application of IEC 61131-3 PLC programming languages or other relevant programming languages
  • Previous experience with electric motor design, testing or control theory
  • Demonstrated experience collaborating with remote technical teams
  • BSEE, BSCS, or BSME

For this role, the Base Salary Compensation is from $132,800.00 - 199,200.00 with an annual target bonus of 8% of base salary. Our company benefits for the US can be found here. Actual pay will be based on factors such as skills, education, and experience.
