Role Overview:

Medcan is looking for a Clinical Talent Acquisition Specialist to join its growing downtown Toronto team. This role plays an integral and consultative role in providing complete recruiting services including developing a proactive pipeline of qualified talent to meet future business requirements. We are seeking someone who has exceptional talent sourcing skills, a strong customer service orientation, ability to work independently and who has effective time management skills.

The Talent Acquisition Specialist will report directly to the Director, Talent Acquisition and will have high visibility to strategic initiatives, including, ongoing process improvements, social media, job vendor management, job board optimization, and campus recruitment. This role will also work closely with the existing Talent Acquisition team to support exciting projects, such as onboarding, and Workday enhancements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for full-cycle recruitment for clinical roles including Physicians, Diagnostic Imaging, and Lab for our locations in Toronto, Oakville, Collingwood and Muskoka
  • Drive new and innovative recruitment initiatives for Medcan, by determining the correct recruitment strategy, including alternative sources to external hiring i.e., job portals, social networking, professional groups and other avenues.
  • Provide consultative and proactive support for hiring managers to identify required talent in pipeline.
  • Headhunt for talent using professional networks and job boards such as LinkedIn Recruiter, Indeed, our resume database, and other resources as required.
  • Build a strong talent pipeline for critical and niche roles within dedicated portfolio, by leveraging CRM processes.
  • Act as the main contact for recruitment agencies as needed.
  • Evaluate candidate resumes against position requirements.
  • Schedule, coordinate meetings, and interview the shortlisted candidates with the hiring managers.
  • Ensure all candidates are provided with timely updates concerning the status of their applications and interviews.
  • Proactively build a qualified talent pool for immediate openings as well as future talent requirements for the business.
  • Co-lead Campus Recruitment programs and Early Career initiatives.
  • Build meaningful and collaborative relationships with colleges and universities to gain access to their talent pools and manage internship and placement opportunities.
  • Measure, track and report on recruitment activities and performance against defined metrics, including Hiring Manager and new hire satisfaction
  • Communicate the status of each search to the hiring manager.
  • Deliver best-in-class candidate experience.

Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary degree/diploma in Human Resources or a related discipline.
  • At least 2-3 years of experience as a Talent Acquisition Specialist, with a blended background in agency and corporate environments with high volume recruitment
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in Campus and Early Career programs preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills and ability to interact with all levels of an organization and candidates.
  • Effective relationship building, business partnership and client management skills.
  • Results-oriented, with a demonstrated ability to deliver results within aggressive deadlines.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, with the ability to respectfully and tactfully interact with a variety of internal and external stakeholders from diverse backgrounds.
  • Ability to build collaborative relationships and trust with hiring managers.
  • Advanced sourcing skills, with experience mining databases, leveraging referrals via networks, and social media to attract passive candidates.
  • Previous exposure to Workday is an asset.
