Job Description

Description
You will be part of Dacia Chassis Simulation Team, which validates chassis design via simulations.
You will run durability simulations on the engine frame of the next Dacia platform. The engine frame is a complex assembly, with several sheet metal parts welded together. You will work with one FEA model used in development and perform variations on its design. Your objective will be to estimate crack initiation times on the sheet metal parts and on the weld seams, and then perform sensitivity analyses to understand how crack initiation times change with variations in input parameters such as:
•sheet metal part changes: increase/decrease thickness, change material, add/remove/modify part CAD, etc.
•weld seam: increase/decrease length, add/remove weld seam
•wheel loads: increase/decrease wheel rim size, understand tire influence (pressure, width, height)
Your expected internship output is the quantification of
1) the impact on engine frame durability of the main vehicle characteristics
2) the potential impact on engine frame durability of the most common measures taken in development to improve it
What we expect from you
•good understanding of the automotive chassis
•basic knowledge of FEA, mechanics and strength of materials
•you read & speak good English
•optionally, an interest in programming languages
