Job Description

THE ROLE:

The Learning Director – Operations will be responsible for defining, developing and implementing ongoing learning strategies and annual learning plans for their assigned business area or enterprise-wide learning programs that are aligned with current and future capability and skills needs. Our team is growing, and this leader will have an opportunity to make an impact by building new, innovative and transformational programs for U.S. Bank.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Leads cross-functional teams and is accountable for effective learning outcomes and building effective partnerships across Human Resources and with the business to ensure employees have the skills and capabilities needed to drive business strategy.

  • Creates and delivers external market insights, as well as qualitative and quantitative data to assigned business unit(s) to recognize trends and assess learning strategy effectiveness.

  • Ensures a high-quality learning experience by leveraging a deep understanding of adult learning science, maximizing learning technology, and a desire to deliver differential and dynamic solutions by translating organizational talent objectives into learning strategies.

Skills and Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, human resources or related field, advanced degree preferred  

  • 10+ years of learning and development, HR, or business experience

  •  4+ years of managerial experience

  • TECHNICAL: Understanding of adult learning principles and seen as a learning expert in assigned area or enterprise initiative

  •  INFLUENCE: History of directly or indirectly influencing senior leaders and teams by proven results driven through excellent leadership in action and challenging status quo

  •  ANALYTICAL: Ability to interpret data to evaluate the effectiveness of training curricula, materials, and programs in light of business objectives and recommend action

  •  PROBLEM SOLVING: Problem solving orientated, with the ability to recognize needs, anticipate issues, and develop solutions using strong analytical, business knowledge, and financial acumen

  •  STRATEGIC THINKING: Strategic thought leader that proactively responds to changing business needs and objectives, while considering implications of business or people related decisions and actions

  •  COMMUNICATION: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively build and articulate messages with story-telling techniques and detailed points of view

  •  INTERPERSONAL: Effective interpersonal, influence-management, and communication skills, particularly in building relationships with business leaders and key stakeholders and presenting to senior leaders

  •  RESULTS ORIENTED: Drives results with purpose, speed and agility, delivering against business specific needs while championing a broader One U.S. Bank approach

  •  LEADERSHIP: Experience in providing work direction, coaching, and guidance to direct reports, other HR professionals and administrative staff, as applicable

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. In addition to salary, U.S. Bank offers a comprehensive benefits package, including incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase 401(k) contribution and pension (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). Pay Range: $165,325.00 - $194,500.00 - $213,950.00
