Purpose:

  • Perform a role in the profit outcome, risk profile and customer focus of the London FX Forward/e-trading team.  
  • The job purpose is to contribute revenue and growth in the client franchise by dealing within the scope of the Business Unit’s
  • short- and medium-term strategies; to provide quality customer service in its chosen markets whilst contributing to the group’s
  • obligation; to lead by example for all Market employees by demonstrating commitment to the Corporate Principles Brief summary of main purpose of role.
  • More generally the role will expose the candidate to a multi-faceted business environment which presents opportunities for professional and personal development.
  • Apply strong quantitative and data analytical skills to identify and capitalize on available trading opportunities. 


KBD: Financial/Business Management

  • To achieve financial and operational targets
  • To complete analysis tasks which translate to revenue development
  • Ensure adherence to authorised limits
  • To provide input into the business strategy for the relevant trading team within markets.

KBD: Customer & Community

  • Manage client and channel development and take ownership and drive for delivery of the product to the customer within the relevant region
  • Drive and champion improved & innovative product delivery and services to meet customer needs and business requirements
  • Develop an in-depth knowledge of products, and have a focus on value to the customer through sales and service, timely and competitive pricing, product delivery and the right solutions for individual customer needs
  • To develop an in-depth knowledge of global and competitor trends, market conditions, opportunities, and subsequent impact on customers
  • Proactive in ensuring the broader team works together to sell and deliver product to the customer
  • To develop and maintain good working relationships with key stakeholders, clients and all internal business partners
  • Maintain and promote the Bank’s professional image in the market place particularly in market/internal relationships
  • To work collaboratively with other business units both in Product and Markets and the broader bank to deliver shareholder value

  • To provide professional and ethical behaviour in your actions by ensuring compliance with external legislation, bank standards and internal operating policies and procedures relevant to the position
  • To escalate any problems, issues or risks which could potentially have a significantly negative impact on any aspect of business operations, financial position or the level and quality of service provided to customers
  • To monitor daily activity so that unusual, abnormal or suspicious deals, trades or other business activities are identified and quickly addressed
  • To ensure a strong risk management framework and discipline
  • To contain Market Risk by ensuring adherence to internal Risk Management policies and respective limit structure approved for each Trading Desk
  • The specific policies that relate to the risk identification and escalation responsibilities of Markets personnel are the Market Risk Limit Policy and the Product and Markets Compliance and Adherence Policy
  • Ensure appropriate limit structures, which are adhered to, by the dealing room and observe all other limits (Credit Liquidity) and Product Usage Authorities

Critical Experience:

  • 2-4 years of FX FWDs/STIR/Spot FX trading experience.
  • Must show a strong quantitative and data analytical background.
  • Knowledge of Legal and Regulatory environment
  • Highly motivated, adaptable individual with strong initiative

Qualifications

  • Must have a graduate degree 2:1 or higher

Technical Skills:

  • Statistical and mathematical understanding and its application to financial markets
  • Strong programming skills in quantitative analytics language(s). Excel/VBA and Python
  • Experience in modelling and analyzing large financial data set
