Return to Office: As of October 15, 2024 Loblaw has adopted the following Hybrid working model (a combination of working between the office and remotely). Colleagues will continue working remotely up to 1 day a week, while spending the other 4 days in the office. 

Position Title: Technical Design Intern

Reports To: Technical Design Manager or Sr. Technical Designer

Job Summary: The Technical Design Intern is an entry level position that assists the technical design team to deliver both Design’s creative vision and Joe Fresh’s customer expectations through the fit, construction and quality of our product.  This is accomplished through learning the technical skills of Apparel Manufacturing and supporting the Technical Design Team.

List of Responsibilities: 

DEPARTMENT ADMINISTRATION       

  • Learn how to effectively:
    • Track, look up and enter data in the applicable areas of PLM, Fit Agenda, and other administrative tools used by the Technical Design Department
    • Participate in departmental and cross-departmental meetings as appropriate
    • Understand Corporate Calendar process and deliverables

FIT & CONSTRUCTION STANDARDS

  • Become familiar with and understand how to look up, update and pull information from:
  • Joe Fresh’s it Classifications Library
  • Fit model measurements vs. Fit Form vs. Avatar vs. Body Measurement Standards
  • Grading Standards

STYLE DEVELOPMENT & APPROVAL

  • Support the TD Team by:
  • Prepping, measuring, and inspecting samples and patterns for fitting
  • Attending Fit Sessions
  • Support updating the tech pack and writing comments (with supervision)
  • Support updating files associated with style approval, including final production pattern, 3D Assets etc.
