Your role at Clorox:

The Group Manager, Engineering & Capital leads all technical, process, packaging, maintenance, and capital activities for the Litter Business Unit. This role oversees a $20–30M annual capital portfolio, drives technical and maintenance strategy, and manages a multi‑disciplinary team supporting manufacturing capability, supply assurance, cost savings, and long‑term growth.
Key responsibilities include leading the BU Technical Services team, directing capital planning and financial governance, developing technical roadmaps, partnering with R&D and supply chain leaders, and influencing supplier and materials strategies. The role also serves as the technical liaison for key suppliers and supports major innovation and operational improvement initiatives.

This role reports directly to Supply Chain Leader of Litter with 4–5 direct reports over several areas – process, capital, maintenance and packaging.

In this role, you will:

Be the Key Leader Supporting Litter BU Engineering Team (process/packaging):

  • SME for litter technical operations and providing insights on overall litter business insights
  • Active member of SR, OTV, SC Leaders core team
  • Key Leaders for OTV for Litter and capital spend for Litter
  • Full Leadership and management of litter capital portfolio ($20–30M) as well as managing maintenance leadership and activities across BU
  • Full Leadership and management of Litter BU Technical Team and develop needed capabilities
    • CPM, Process, Prod Services, Controls, Tools to include Digital
    • Supply Assurance work
    • Cost Savings Support
  • Understand/Influence/own: capital and technical choices within our manufacturing plants aligning work with PEMs and Plants to network plans/core teams
  • Understand/Influence/own: litter strategies on clay supply, clay sourcing, manufacturing capabilities, minerals, process outputs and capital installation
  • Understand and influence choices on suppliers & the capabilities needed
  • Inform key leaders on real impacts of R&D initiatives on our manufacturing capabilities and enabling plants to support plans
  • Serve as technical liaison to key suppliers as well as support materials management with EMs and keep CLX leaders abreast of key capabilities and constraints
  • Collaborate & influence choices on innovation, technical changes in the plant as well as new processes or materials
  • Financial controls sign off on litter engineering activities and Sabanes Oxley Controls
  • Leadership, mentor and coaching of direct report and support functions

Manage and Coordinate:

  • Provides direct management support for the BU Technical Services Team
  • As needed, leads major technical projects, maintenance harmonization plans and provides coordination to other functions within the BU and external to the BU

Technical & Maintenance Strategy:

  • Lead the planning, development, and activation of the business unit supply chain technical and maintenance strategy
  • Own expertise in BU-specific production technologies and engineering requirements
  • Lead equipment/maintenance planning as well as equipment knowledge for strategic growth plans and OPEX requirements

Capital Planning:

  • Lead BU capital planning for Litter Core team
  • Provide budgeting oversight and forecast updates associated with BU Supply Chain Strategy and capability requirements
  • Drive variance analysis and required changes to deliver plan

Project and Resource Allocation:

  • Direct and move resources across mechanical, maintenance, technical services team as needed to effectively deliver business performance outcomes aligned with BU objectives and SC strategies/cost savings

Supply Chain Leadership

  • Work together with the Supply Chain Leader and the leaders of Make, Plan, and Services to deliver seamless and effective supply chains that meet or exceed business requirements

What we look for:

  • 10 plus years of progressive supply chain management and technical engineering, maintenance expertise and process / mechanical experience managing increasing responsibility for large business and demonstrating a track record of success
  • Able to identify and develop strategic plans, strategies as well as tactical options to improve supply chain performance and capabilities and BU/Enterprise initiatives
  •  Deep understanding of technical engineering processes, frameworks, and common approaches.
  • Strong understanding of maintenance, parts and mechanical systems to drive and support plant and network service plans.   
  • Collaborate and influence others ranging from subordinates to peers or senior executives to accomplish team objectives.
  • Strong analytical skills with an ability to draw conclusions from complex data and information.
  • Ability to simplify and communicate clearly and effectively in both written and verbal forms to all stakeholders. 
  • Strong problem-solving skills.  
  • Excellent understanding of business financials and ability to articulate financial impacts to supply chain choices and risks
  • Flexibility manifesting in ability to manage and prioritize planned and unplanned work
  • Drive and commitment to deliver complex projects and initiatives on time, on budget, and with solutions that meet and exceed business requirements
  • Deep knowledge of end-to-end business and supply chain interdependencies
  • Curiosity that manifests in ongoing development and learning about external environment 
  •  Lead with excellence by consistently demonstrating attributes from the Clorox leadership model and values  
  • Demonstrated ability to coach and guide supply chain professionals, including effectively developing overall performance management plans
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering discipline 
  • MBA (Highly Desirable)

Your starting pay will depend on job-related factors, including relevant skills, knowledge, experience and location. The applicable salary range for every role in the U.S. is based on your work location and is aligned to one of three zones according to the cost of labor in your area.

–Zone A: $153,700 - $309,000

–Zone B: $140,900 - $283,300

–Zone C: $128,100 - $257,500
