Job Overview
Provide independent high level technical and general accounting services in accordance with IQVIA Finance Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP), Sarbanes-Oxley rules and financial reporting requirements (including local GAAP and tax rules) of the business unit. 

Responsible for the accounting and reporting requirements for the Company’s legal entities in a number of countries in EMEA. This includes a broad range of day-to-day general accounting duties to ensure the entities’ books are complete and accurate and are reported to the US parent company in a timely fashion each month.  Additionally, prepare local GAAP financial statements and assist in the annual local audits.
 

Essential Functions

•  Supervise & support staff reporting directly

• Support month end process and reconciliations within deadlines and instructions, and follow-up/resolving open items for specified tasks.

• Ensure that accounting records are thoroughly maintained in preparation for independent audits.

• Maintain adequate and current documentation of the systems of internal control.

Perform and review SOX controls in line with Group internal guidelines.

• Ensure that all processes and decisions are in line with IQVIA SOPs and local legal requirements

• Assume overall responsibility for small size legal entity or regional tasks.

• Prepare / assist in the preparation and audit of local GAAP financial statements

Prepare or analyse financial reports, research and explain variances

• Ensure appropriate communication with all business partners and support business partners in      financial decisions, if required. Ensure business activities are appropriately reflected in the accounting records.

• Support the onboarding of additional countries to the new IQVIA financial shared services centre in Bratislava Slovakia.

• Provide recommendations to improve existing processes and financial systems and suggest alternatives where appropriate.

• Maintain a solid working knowledge of technical accounting skills.

• Participate in or manage Finance related projects as needed.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
• Bachelor's Degree Req
• 5 years’ experience in accounting Req Or
• Equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Req

• 1 years’ supervisory experience / leading a team Req
• Knowledge of SAP & PeopleSoft ERP’s.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
• Technical accounting skills.
• Good analytical and numeracy skills.
• Ability to identify financial issues and execute mitigating actions.
• Ability to prioritize and coordinate multiple work requirements to meet deadlines.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, managers, and clients.
