Leidos Defense Systems Uncrewed Systems Integration and Test Team at Leidos currently has an opening for a UAS Systems Engineer to work in our Huntsville, AL office.  This is an exciting opportunity to help DoD Uncrewed Systems pioneer new technology ensuring mission success.

Primary Responsibilities

The UAS System Engineer will work directly with the Department Manager and other leaders within the Uncrewed Systems Integration and Test Team within the Division, supporting UAS test opportunities for multi-purpose Command and Control platforms within the Department. Our team provides technical subject matter expertise (SME) for government UAS product offices to aid in product improvement and acquisitions, thus ensuring our customers can cost-effectively maximize capability as new, advanced technologies are identified.

Basic Qualifications

The candidate must have a minimum of a BS in computer science, computer engineering, software engineering, electrical engineering, project management, or a related field or a minimum of a high school diploma with 20 years requisite recent UAS technical experience.  The candidate should have at least 10 years of relevant technical experience with a minimum of 4 years of personnel management experience. The candidate must have proven ability to build and maintain relationships across all levels and functional areas of an organization and must possess strong interpersonal communication skills and presentation skills.

The UAS System Engineer will have good understanding of UAS operations, to include specific knowledge of command and control, data links and general aircraft knowledge. The department’s projects center primarily around Uncrewed Aviation Systems (UAS) testing and technical studies for the Army UAS Program Management Office. The department has supported the Army’s UAS interoperability mission and is branching out to key technology areas as the Uncrewed Systems world is rapidly expanding, with evolving mission needs.

Must be a resident of North Alabama or willing to relocate to the Huntsville, AL area.

Must be a US citizen and possess (and be able to maintain) a Final Secret Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

A successful candidate may be responsible for leading in one or more of the following areas:

• Collaborate across diverse groups in the in the integration of test environments supporting UAS.

• Cultivate and continually strengthen existing customer relationships while working to develop new customer relationships.

• Work with direct reports to continually develop UAS testing talent and capabilities, supporting the breadth of Army UAS.

• Support specific UAS test events with data acquisition and evaluations in support of system milestone events.

• Support the interviewing and hiring of specific UAS testing talent.

Pay Range:

Pay Range $101,400.00 - $183,300.00
