Citi Finance is responsible for the firm’s financial management and related controls. The team comprises disciplines including Treasury, Tax, Controllers and Financial Planning & Analysis, and manages and partners on key Citi initiatives and deliverables, such as our quarterly earnings process and ensuring Citi’s compliance with financial rules and regulations.
We’re currently looking for a high caliber professional to join our team as an Officer, Fixed Asset Controller (Internal Job Title: Officer - C10) based in Taguig, BGC, Metro Manila. The Finance Accounting Analyst 2 is a developing professional role. Applies specialty area knowledge in monitoring, assessing, analyzing and/or evaluating processes and data. Identifies policy gaps and formulates policies. Interprets data and makes recommendations. Researches and interprets factual information. Identifies inconsistencies in data or results, defines business issues and formulates recommendations on policies, procedures or practices. Integrates established disciplinary knowledge within own specialty area with basic understanding of related industry practices. Good understanding of how the team interacts with others in accomplishing the objectives of the area. Develops working knowledge of industry practices and standards. Limited but direct impact on the business through the quality of the tasks/services provided. Impact of the job holder is restricted to own team.
Responsibilities:
Supports the management and control data flows to and within Finance applications to ensure integrity and completeness of data, including by preparing and recording financial transactions for legal vehicle and regulatory reporting purposes, updating the general ledger, recording financial transactions, and preparing of consolidated financial statements, in accordance with management reporting requirements, for legal vehicle & regulatory purposes. Also, includes specialized accounting, such as equity compensation, securitization, payroll and investment accounting.
Integrates established disciplinary knowledge within own specialty area with basic understanding of related industry practices.
Take responsibility for the accurate reporting of accounting reconciliations on Citi reporting tools.
Preparation of accounts for process in line with global guidelines.
Manages implementation of procedures and development report.
Adhere to key controls for accounting process within the process handled.
Articulates own process along with its key controls and provides evidence to support reasoning for the assigned area of work.
Communicate with Legal Entity Managers on the status of the reconciliations/ accounting performed.
Delivers on routine accounting deliverables to provide defined outputs.
Escalates problems or issues relating to transactions, processes, reports or, procedures as appropriate.
Utilizes understanding of concepts and procedures within own area and basic knowledge of other areas to resolve issues that have impact on own area.
Applies understanding of how the team and area integrate with others in accomplishing objectives.
Applies good understanding of how the team interacts with others in accomplishing the objectives of the area.
Assesses the applicability of previous or similar experiences and evaluates options under circumstances not covered by procedures.
Has limited but direct impact on the business through quality of activities provided. Has impact on team and closely related teams.
Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
Review CRS (Citi Real Estate Services) projects and its related expenses. This would involve reviewing fixed assets per the Fixed Asset Management Standard and ensuring projects are reviewed and closed in a timely manner.
Work with Project Managers and Project Compliance Coordinators to ensure all the project data is captured correctly.
Work with Global CRS Business Stakeholders and CRS Controllers for the development enhanced financial reporting to provide better insight into key performance metrics, complex analytical reports, and financial analysis
Support the development of enhanced asset verification procedures, standardizing asset input and global oversight. This role will also play a key role in the development and implementation of Initiative Expenditure Proposal (Citi’s initiatives/projects and its related expenditures).
Identify and correct any financial issues by working with Reporting teams and business counterparts, or P2P team as appropriate
Take responsibility for the accurate reporting of accounting reconciliations on Citi reporting tools
Assist the financial team with process and control standardization and improvement projects, especially leveraging the data and reporting skillsets
Review and examine key controls for accounting process across multiple processes being handled.
Other Ad Hoc tasks as needed
Qualifications:
1-3 years of experience in accounting
Strong technical and data analytical skills using Microsoft Excel, Access and PowerPoint. VBA for excel is a plus
Ability to work with and organize a large amount of data
Knowledge and experience in P2P, REALM, TCAPS and other financial systems is a plus
Key competencies will include a mix of excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, seasoned business judgment and attention to quality and detail
Be a self-starter who is able to work independently and be flexible enough to handle multiple tasks
Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field, Chartered Accountant or equivalent combination of education
Knowledge of Power BI/Knime or any other data visualization tool is preferred
Requires attention to detail when making judgments and recommendations based on the analysis of factual information
