The OpenText - (Enterprise Document Management Systems) Developer is responsible for technical design, custom development, and technical support within the OpenText application and related integrated application components.  The primary function of the role is to develop, enhance, maintain coding, script, and technical configurations for the document management systems platform based on the OpenText suite.

The developer will be responsible for driving and executing development solutions for new projects and requests, maintenance of existing code bases, and support for break/fix issues involving technical configurations.

This position is accountable for the following:

• Develop applications and solutions using development and database tools, code, scripts, and technical configurations for OpenText suite related components
• Maintain existing code sets and integrations in an OpenText suite environment
• Provide support for technical system and end-user support issues that require technical solutions such as scripts or updates to code and database queries
• Provide technical direction in the analysis, design, development, testing, deployment, maintenance for bug fixes and improvements related to OpenText and its interfaces
• Work with the Change and Release Management team to ensure representation and coordination of projects throughout the change and release process
• Actively lead and participate in design discussions and code reviews
• Work with vendors to design and implement new functionality
• Deliver and maintain existing services, resolve incidents and problem management, and meet SLAs as well as provide rotational on call coverage
• Continuously drive excellence in the areas of optimizing services and work processes, improving quality and reliability, and lowering total costs
• Drive sustainable, operational excellence in the delivery of new application improvements and existing services

Minimum Qualifications:

• 5+ years of Developer experience related to OpenText Suite and Content Server, a good fit would have the following skills:
  • Experience developing custom solutions and integrations including full development lifecycle utilizing the various OpenText SDKs with SQL, Views, Stored Procedures, C#, Java, Visual Studio, HTML, JavaScript, JQuery, SOAP, REST API, JSON, Smart UI SDKs, WebReports
  • Custom application integrations with OpenText SOAP and Rest APIs
  • Development of Reports, Dashboards, Content Server Data Transfers/Migrations/Transfers utilizing complex OpenText Content Server database schemas and modules like xECM SAP, Engineering, and Project Workspaces
  • Experience writing and optimizing large reports and data extraction queries in OpenText schemas utilizing SQL stored procedures, views in coordination with reporting tool such as Qlik, Power BI, WebReports, Smart UI and Data Warehouses
  • Develop new SQL queries/stored procedures for LiveReports, user requests, administrative tasks or application integrations
  • Knowledge and development experience with OScript is a plus
  • Smart UI configuration and development is a plus
• Considerations for experience with OpenText Content Suite modules:
  • OpenText Content Server version 20.x+ CE (and Upgrades)
  • xECM for Engineering or related modules such as AND, CRT, ADM, Bulk Loading, Transmittals, Transmittal Coversheets, MFT, CRT Bulk Loader, Revision Management, Engineering Document Management Reviews
  • Webreport/live report design and development experience
  • ActiveViews, WebForms, Workflows, Records Management, Brava, Blazon, Object importer
• Migration of documents and data into and out of Content Server Suite, including required data preparation (Using scripts or APIs as needed)
• Bulk Updating of Documents and Metadata using API’s or other tools

• Clear understanding of content server module development and the integration points with other third-party applications
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or engineering, or equivalent work experience
• Strong problem solving, teamwork skills, and ability to work with minimal direction
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Able to solve problems and fix issues
