SSSD has an opening for a Mechanical Technician 4 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be in Redondo Beach, California.

The ideal candidate will have experience performing a variety of responsibilities, which may include but are not limited to the following:

Position requires extensive knowledge of diverse composite fabrication and assembly techniques. Successful candidate will have knowledge of Mastercam Programming, Gerber Composite material cutting equipment and associated Gerber cutworks software, Shelf-life material handling and control, Ability to read engineering drawings and application of processes procedures and documents relative to composite hardware commonly found in the aerospace industry, structural bonding techniques, including bonding/drilling of composite and metallic assemblies. Candidate must have a comprehensive understanding of Geometric Positioning and Tolerancing usage and application.
Position requires 6 years minimum experience in the skills relative to the aerospace assembly field. This position may require 2nd shift support.
Individual must be able to demonstrate to Quality Assurance that work performed meets engineering drawing requirements. Works with chemicals. This position may be required to perform other duties as assigned. Must be willing to work any shift and extended work weeks.

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

Basic Qualifications:
• High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) required
• US Citizenship required
• Six years of experience performing technician competencies
• Willing to work any shift and cover extended work weeks as require
• Hands-on knowledge and experience with the use of a variety of hand
tools and mechanical equipment

Preferred Qualifications:
o AA degree or other two-year technical degree
o Knowledge of Mastercam Programming, Gerber Composite material cutting equipment and associated Gerber cutworks software
o Demonstrate technical knowledge in manufacturing operations and procedures as it pertains to mechanical fabrication and assembly, with a high attention to detail.
o Experience working with complex engineering drawings, process specification, and work order instructions.
o Experience working in clean room environments.
o Proficient in use of precision measuring instruments, hand tools, drills, torque wrenches, etc.
o Minimum 6 years of experience building/assembling hardware commonly found in aerospace environments.

Salary Range: $74,900.00 - $124,800.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
