Our integrated credit platform across trading, sales and strategy provide services to support our debt capital markets franchise and investor client base, trading global credit and covering all major institutional investors.

Our team of nearly 100 professionals across London, New York, Hong Kong, and Singapore has trading expertise across all major corporate and financial bonds, covering:

  • Investment grade and crossover (Europe, US, Asia)
  • High yield (US, Asia)
  • Emerging markets (CEEMEA, Latin America, Asia)
  • Asset swaps /Illiquid credit including hard and local currencies (Europe)
  • CDS single name (Europe)
  • Our growing presence in electronic trading on all major platforms, including Bloomberg ALLQ, MarketAxess and Tradeweb, ensures consistent and timely execution of all client corporate bond trades.

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE ROLE 

  • Trading US$ denominated debt issued by non-US companies

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for growing and maintaining secondary bond trading volumes and revenues in line with business targets
  • Partner with Sales teams globally to increase our profitable market share in the US$ Yankee bank sector with our core investor base.
  • Collaboration and partnership with New York Trading desk and overnight traders in Hong Kong / Tokyo to leverage our global platform and service our global client base.

WORK EXPERIENCE

Essential

  • Strong track record of building a Credit business, with relevant relationships that can be leveraged to build a US$ Yankee bank franchise at MUFG
  • Extensive, expert knowledge of the Non-US bank and FI Sector
  • Ability to manage US$ credit trading in a resource efficient, profitable manner, within parameters of Limits within Dealing Mandate and within MUFG’s Risk Appetite Framework
  • Significant Credit experience, in Buy or Sell side
  • Consistent PnL track record

For Managerial/Senior roles

Experience leading high performing teams

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Functional / Technical Competencies:

  • University degree (2:2 or above equivalent).

PERFORMANCE AND DUTIES

The role holder will be assessed in accordance with their employing entity’s performance framework and process with relevant input obtained from the dual hatting entity as relevant.

As duties and responsibilities change, the job description will be reviewed and emended in consultation with the role holder.

The role holder will carry out other duties as are within the scope, spirit and purpose of the role as requested by their line manager or Department Head.

MANAGING CONFLICTS OF INTEREST

The role holder will:

  • Have responsibilities for both MUFG Bank and MUFG Securities EMEA plc, as a dual hatted individual, as per the terms of the Dual-Hat Arrangement Agreement in place between the two entities.
  • Be required to perform their duties and responsibilities on an entity neutral basis, without favour
  • Be required to follow regulatory requirements applicable to ensure each business is appropriately supported and to maintain the legal entity integrity of each of MUFG Bank and MUS.
  • Will be required to follow terms dictated by functional mandates
  • Have responsibility for identifying and resolving where there may be a difference or conflict in needs between MUFG Bank and MUFG Securities EMEA plc, escalating to their manager where required.
