If you love analyzing data, collaborating with individuals from every level, and improving financial performance, this could be the perfect gig for you!

We support flex-fit schedules, however, this position requires an active and enthusiastic presence primarily on-site and frequently out on the processing floor.

What You'll Do:

  • Monitoring equipment part inventory quantities to ensure appropriate valuation.
  • Assist in maintaining standard costs.

  • Keep our accounting and FP&A teams in the loop, providing regular updates and communicating any known issues and their financial impact.
  • Coordinate annual budget and forecasts for the plant, working closely with leadership to develop and monitor performance.
  • Partner closely with Operations & Continuous Improvement teams to develop meaningful KPIs and dashboards; track progress on plant process/performance improvement goals.
  • Keep tabs on our physical inventory process, cycle counts, and inventory management.
  • Take a proactive approach to apply LEAN concepts to our process workflows and collaborate on analyses to support data-driven decisions.
  • Take a deep-dive into our expenses to ensure we’re getting the most bang for our buck, identify and clarify variances to forecast/budget, and ensure plant management has monthly updates on our performance.
  • Conduct comprehensive analysis of production costs, material consumption, and inventory levels
  • Offer financial guidance and support to plant management when they need to make decisions about capex, investments, cost reduction, and capacity planning.
  • Implement and maintain strong internal controls to safeguard assets.
  • Support audit activities to ensure the adequacy of our internal control environment and that no control deficiencies exist.
  • Support the General Ledger accounting team when needed.

What You Bring to the Table:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree from an accredited university within a relevant field such as Finance, Business, Accounting, Supply Chain or Economics preferred.

  • Ability to travel 10-20% for company meetings, team offsites, employee onboarding trips and other business needs
  • You’ve been around the block in the manufacturing world. RCA, VSM, and KPI are your favorite 3 letter acronyms, and you’re happy to jump in on a 5S whenever you can.
  • Attention to detail? Yep, you’ve got that covered.
  • You're a pro when it comes to cost accounting, financial analysis, and performance metrics.
  • You’re no hero – You know the power of teamwork and celebrate the work of others before your own.
  • You give a sh*t – You believe in acting like an owner and making Vital Farms a place to be proud of.
