Job Description

As the Finance Manager at AirAsia X, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the financial health and stability of our organization. Your responsibilities will encompass a wide range of financial management tasks, and your contributions will be critical to our success. Here's what you'll be doing: 

  • Overseeing and optimizing various accounting functions to maintain accuracy and efficiency.

  • Managing the monthly closure of accounts, meticulously preparing financial reports for month-end and year-end management and statutory reporting.

  • Preserving working capital, making strategic decisions to maintain our financial liquidity.

  • Responsible for reviewing, regulating, and reconciling accruals, provisions, and prepayments, ensuring strict adherence to Group accounting policies.

  • Supervise and guide the dedicated team in our shared service center.

  • Go-to expert for performing reconciliations and checking of receivables, payables, bank statements, and investigating GL/sub-ledger variances whenever necessary.

  • Perform historical prepayment reconciliation and analyze discrepancies that prevent offsetting.

  • Identify and resolve issues related to Accounts Payable by discussing them with the manager or shared service center as needed.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to coordinate, review, and implement IT and ERP enhancements, continuously improving our financial processes.

  • Responsible for the straightforward consolidation of our wholly owned subsidiary companies.

  • Preparing comprehensive quarterly financial reports for submission to our Board, showcasing your financial prowess.

  • Keep a watchful eye on related party transactions to ensure transparency and compliance.

  • In addition to your core responsibilities, be ready to tackle any other ad hoc tasks that arise, demonstrating your flexibility and initiative.

Qualifications & Experience:

To excel in this role, you'll need the following qualifications and characteristics:

  • Hold at least a bachelor’s degree in accountancy/finance or an equivalent Professional Qualification (ACCA, CPA, ICAEW, MICPA).

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience, including a background in external audit, you possess the financial acumen necessary for this role.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly in Excel.

  • Strong interpersonal skills make you a valuable collaborator and communicator within the team and across departments.

  • High attention to detail and strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Thriving under pressure and being able to meet tight deadlines in our fast-paced environment is your forte.
