Merchandising Insights is the engine working to create the most informed Merchandising team in retail. As a member of this cutting-edge, data-driven team, you will help pioneer and lead efforts to advance our insights capabilities and routines across Merchandising. This team works cross functionally across the organization, partnering with our data sciences, engineering, consulting teams, strategic partners, and Merchandising and Enterprise Segmentation teams, driving innovation in how our teams run their business. Working within Merchandising Insights, your mission will be to partner across assigned businesses to properly understand critical business needs, define solutions, build products, and bridge with our overall capabilities roadmap to drive continuous innovation and elevation of key business functions.
Product Teams at Target are accountable for the delivery of business outcomes enabled through technology and analytic products that are easy to use, easily maintained and highly reliable. Product teams have one shared backlog that is inclusive of all product, technology, discovery and design work.
As a Sr Manager Product, Merchandising Insights, you will be expected to stay ahead of trends with your deep knowledge of the digital market and competitive market data landscape. Further Target’s proprietary assortment intelligence by combining disparate data sources to create industry leading insights products and solutions. Proactively seek leadership, consulting team, assortment insights team and buyer feedback as a key input to product backlog prioritization. Leverage product to better serve existing assortment insights routines and enable new routines. Build strong and direct connection to the business, competitive insights captains and key division leaders. Create product with existing internal platforms and envision the future by making product-ready prototypes awaiting emerging platforms. Bring your unrelenting focus on easy to navigate, self-serve, high adoption insights tools for assortment-level decisions from executive leader to buyer. Be the expert and key contributor to developing Target’s competitive market insights capability that will connect down to the micro-market level and across segmentation and Guest insights products.

As a Senior Product Manager, you will work in the product model and will partner to develop a comprehensive product strategy, related roadmap, and set key business objectives (OKRs) for your respective product. You will need to leverage the knowledge of your product, as well as customer feedback and establish other relevant data points to assess value, develop business cases, and prioritize the direction and desired outcomes for your product. You will lead a product and work in unison with engineers, UX designers, data scientists and business partners to deliver a product.
You will be the “voice of the product” to key stakeholders to ensure that their needs are met, and that the product team is getting the direction and support that it needs to be successful. You will develop and actively understand the market, maintain a product roadmap and backlog outlining the customer themes, epics, and stories while prioritizing the backlog to focus on the highest impact work for your team and stakeholders.
You will encourage the open exchange of information and viewpoints, as well as inspire others to achieve challenging goals and high standards of performance while committing to the organization's direction. You will foster a sense of urgency to achieve goals and leverage resources to overcome unexpected obstacles, and partner with product teams across the organization to help them achieve their goals while pursuing and completing yours.

This position will operate as a Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement based on Target’s needs. A Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement means the team member’s core role will need to be performed both onsite at the Target HQ MN location the role is assigned to and virtually, depending upon what your role, team and tasks require for that day.
