As a Global Senior Marketing Consultant at Caterpillar Inc., you will lead the charge in shaping and executing the global go-to-market (GTM) strategy starting with Technology Machine Upgrades, with a key focus on the transformative Project Emurge. In this dynamic role, you’ll ensure cutting-edge technology is seamlessly integrated at the machine Point of Sale, driving innovation and value for our customers. Secondly, you will also spearhead efforts to expand and scale dealer technology organizations, empowering them to deliver next-level solutions and revolutionize how technology is distributed across the globe.

What You Will Do:

Develop and execute the global GTM strategy for Technology Machine Upgrades (Project Emurge), with a focus on integration at machine Point of Sale:

  • Put together the global Go-to-Market plan on technology machine upgrade to drive awareness, transaction and installation/upgrade. The focus will be on increasing take rate at point of machine sales, I.E drive integration into dealers’ quoting systems and sales funnel management processes.
  • Align, monitor and drive sales and adoption targets achievement by collaborating with our team and across the enterprise to ensure success of Emurge:
    • Construction Digital and Technology on the different phases of the Emurge project and to define our best go-to-market approach.
    • Our aftermarket partners Construction Industries Services division (CISD) to ensure a seamless customer experience and clear roles and responsibilities across our teams.
    • The Marketing Communications team on marketing channels, content, etc.
  • Gather voice of customer and conduct market research to identify the customer needs, pain points, and opportunities for Emurge.
  • Act as one of the key experts on our solutions, able to cover a good level of technical discussions with customers and dealers and technology product group partner.

2. Drive a technology distribution effort to help scale dealer technology organizations:

  • Define a process and method to provide clear guidance to dealers on how to set-up, organize, scale their Construction Industries Technology organization based on market maturity and opportunity. This will start by visiting and gathering current dealer best practices, put together a winning formula and execute with some key territories.
  • Stay updated on the market trends, competitive landscape, and customer feedback, and adjust the GTM and distribution strategy accordingly.

What You Have (Basic Qualifications):

  • Degree and experience: 4-year college or university degree in marketing, business or a related field OR equivalent progressive experience in the manufacturing or construction technology industry, particularly in go-to-market strategies related to the construction/heavy equipment sector.  
  • Global Perspective: Proven experience working on international projects, with an understanding of diverse markets, cultural nuances, and global business operations to drive success in worldwide go-to-market strategies.
  • Strategic Thinking: Demonstrated ability to develop and execute long-term business strategies that align with company objectives, with a focus on innovation, scalability, and customer engagement.
  • Vendor/Supplier Management: Strong experience in managing relationships with external vendors, suppliers, and partners, including the ability to negotiate contracts, oversee performance, and ensure alignment with strategic business goals.

Top Candidates Will Have:

  • Experience driving global marketing initiatives with a focus on technology integration and sales enablement at the point of machine sales.
  • A proven track record of developing and scaling dealer networks or technology distribution channels in diverse markets.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across multiple business units and influence stakeholders at all levels.

Additional Info:

  • This position requires 55% travel during the first year, with a focus on key markets and dealer sites. After the first year, 40% international travel will be expected to maintain relationships and oversee ongoing initiatives.
  • Relocation may be available to those who qualify.
