With R&D and Digital and Tech’s (D&T) joint goals to supercharge data in R&D, and the recent changes to the R&D organization to accelerate Research, this new role will be accountable for ALL Digital and Tech products and services for R&D Global Clinical Operations (GCO), and focused on delivering the maximum value via all digital and technology aspects of GCO are fully enabled, including helping to position GSK as ‘Sponsor of Choice’ for thousands of Clinical Investigators.

 

This role will be accountable for managing ALL R&D digital and tech aspects of GCO, as well as the tech products that support GCOs day to day operations.

 

GCO Operationalizes ALL GSK Clinical Studies, from First time in human through Phase III/IV, operating in > 20 countries via thousands of Clinical Investigators (non-GSK staff) and tens of thousands of patients.

 

GCO Tech Lead for Development Digital & Tech will lead a significant team with these critical accountabilities.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Single Point Accountable Decision Maker (SPADM) for all Digital and Tech relating to GCO.

  • D&T Strategy definition with GCO LT and translation into proposals / business cases for investment

  • Accountable for all D&T used by GCO and associated tens of thousands of Clinical Investigators and patients in GSK Clinical Trials

  • Responsible directly for defined products that span across GCO or Development or R&D e.g., RD RMCB 3rd party risk management solution.

  • Management of D&T key vendors from strategic GSK Tech partners (e.g., Accenture, TCS, Cognizant) through product vendors (e.g., Veeva, Cluepoints etc)

  • Line management of ~3 Senior Product Directors and 1-3 Product Directors / Owners

  • Matrix management of D&T services provided from other Digital and Tech functions to GCO.

  • Full member of the GCO LT driving the DT topics and significantly contributing value to non-D&T topics

  • Directly accountable for the delivery of all GCO DT investments and collaborating with GCO LT to ensure that maximum value is delivered from those.

  • Note GCO accounts for 40%-60% of the annual investment in DT for Development and has a significant opportunity to impact the Development pipeline via acceleration of GSK Clinical Trials, which will bring life changing medicines & vaccines to patients who are waiting for them.

 

 

Why You?

 

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree plus Master’s or Doctorate

  • Technical degree e.g., Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology or Life-sciences

  • 10+ years of Pharma experience in the Development domain

  • Stakeholder management and influence at Senior and Vice President level

  • Tech Product Management and delivery of scaled products that meet regulatory obligations.

  • Leading Digital and Tech teams

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in leading transformation through technology

  • Broad awareness of Pharma and Tech industry

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
