Title:   Compensation Manager

PURPOSE

Under the general supervision of the Director of Compensation, the Compensation Manager will ensure that our compensation programs align with business objectives and industry standards while complying with all applicable regulations. Key responsibilities include analyzing, implementing, and managing compensation programs designed to attract, retain, and motivate top talent, ensuring internal equity, and maintaining regulatory compliance.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Lead Compensation Initiatives: Develop and implement compensation solutions in collaboration with leaders, HRIS, payroll, and HR partners.
  • Manage Salary Survey Process: Oversee the annual salary survey process, including benchmark matching, data collection, policy questionnaires, and vendor follow-ups.
  • Data Analysis and Reporting: Analyze compensation data, prepare reports, and present findings to senior leadership for program improvement.
  • Job Analysis and Evaluation: Conduct job evaluations to set salary ranges and ensure internal equity. Collaborate with HRBPs on job assessments.
  • Compensation Planning and Budgeting: Assist in developing annual compensation budgets that align with business priorities and are fiscally responsible.
  • Salary Structure Design: Create and maintain a competitive salary structure based on market trends and organizational goals. Regularly update salary ranges.
  • Compliance and Regulation: Stay current with compensation-related laws and regulations. Ensure compliance with wage and hour laws, equal pay regulations, and reporting requirements.
  • Communications and Training: Support management with training and communication about compensation policies, philosophies, and procedures.

EXPECTATIONS

  • Must adhere to all policies, procedures, terms and conditions set forth in the National Church Residences’ Employee Information Guide (EIG), the Code of Conduct, as well as any facility handbook, including but not limited to, corporate compliance, drug free workplace, safe work practices, all federal, state, local regulations and laws.
  • With respect to Resident Rights, ensures all care is provided with respect and dignity for the residents/clients, their families and the staff. Reports all complaints made by residents/clients and/or families to the appropriate supervisors, reports all allegations of abuse, misappropriation of funds/resident property and/or any other corporate compliance, drug free workplace, safe work practices, all federal, state and local regulations and laws.
  • Completes all annual education requirements timely, including but not limited to Compliance, Privacy, Security and HIPAA training and exhibits behavior as set forth by the Code of Conduct in the performance of their duties.

JOB SPECIFICATION SHEET— Compensation Manager

Education:         Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or related field; or equivalent work experience required.  Master’s degree or relevant certification (e.g., Certified Compensation Professional) preferred.

Experience:        Proven experience (5+ years) in compensation management or related field, with a strong understanding of compensation principles, practices, and trends.

Mental:              Must have excellent communication, comprehension, and interpersonal skills.  Must have the ability to speak, read, write and understand English, as well as the ability to make self-understood.

Skills:                   Must have good working computer skills with basic professional computer software (Microsoft Office suite, HRIS, Market Pricing Software, data analysis tools, etc.) and the capacity for learning new software systems quickly.  Must have strong skills in analytical & critical thinking, relationship management, business acumen, strong motivational skills and a high emotional intelligence quotient (EQ).

Work Location: In office minimum 3 days per week.

Working Conditions:                    Office based. Due to occasional work in long term care facilities, exposure to some disagreeable conditions such as noise, odors, illness, infection and physical contact with disruptive residents.

Consequences of Errors:             Substantial. High monetary responsibility.
