PRIMARY FUNCTION 

The Material Coordinator shall monitor and process Depot Level Repairable (DLR’s), identify DLR carcasses requiring processing, and collect DLR carcasses from submarines and submarine tenders 

 

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS 

  • Processes incoming customer requests 

  • Interfaces and responds to both internal and external customer inquiries and complaints 

  • Provides mission support for Naval Base Guam 

  • Input DLR carcassesinto the electronic Retrograde Management System (eRMS) 

  • Properly stow and maintain carcasses awaiting turn in. 

  • Process DLR carcasses for shipment 

  • Transfer DLR carcasses to shipping agent 

  • Provide status report 

  • Troubleshoot frustrated DLR carcasses 

  • Maintain log of surveyed DLR’s 

  • Material receipt, stow and delivery for submarines in Guam 

  • Receive material 

  • Document material receipt 

  • Stow and deliver material 

  • Consolidate and ship materials to submarines in other locations 

  • Limited configuration database support for submarines home ported in Guam 

  • Receive executable files from commander Submarine Force, US Pacific Fleet (COMSUBPAC) 

  • Load executable files 

  • Report upload completion 

 

 

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

This job has no supervisory responsibilities. The Material Coordinator has the authority and responsibility to carry out assigned tasks.  

 

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES: 

  • Intermediate computer skills specifically using Microsoft Office Suite; ability to learn additional computer skills or software programs. 

  • Ability to enter data accurately into databases.  

  • Ability to understand and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  

  • Ability to generate routine reports and correspondence 

  • Excellent interpersonal skills to work effectively and cooperatively with all levels of management and staff. 

  • Must be trustworthy. Will routinely handle confidential information 

  • Ability to use general office equipment such as fax, phone, copier, etc. 

  • Ability to follow a process. 

  • Strong professional customer service skills, including active listening, prompt service and follow-up.  

  • Analytical skills with the ability to evaluate data and consider decision impact across multiple areas with limited information in high stress situations and environments 

  • Problem solving skills; ability to draw conclusions and justify decisions. Must be able to communicate issues to management  

  • Possess the ability to manage conflicting priorities 

  • Ability to learn and understand corporate policies and procedures and how they relate to goals. 

  • Ability to perform basic mathematical computations, detect unobvious facts and issues, and exercise resourcefulness in resolving problems. 

  • Ability to multi-task. 

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS:  

  • Be a US citizen 

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent 

  • Minimum of 5 years prior logistics operational experience 

  • Have a valid driver’s license 

  • Must be able to lift 25 pounds 

  • Ability to pass a drug and background screening 

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance 

  • Be computer literate in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word and have the ability to learn unique automated data applications 

  • Have substantial experience in submarine supply operations
