Red Hat Consulting is seeking Cloud Architects specialized in Telco to join our regional consulting practice teams. The primary responsibility of the Red Hat Telco Cloud Architect is to passionately drive the adoption of Red Hat's solution in our key telco service provider customers, network equipment providers, and key system integrator partners. Through a series of interactions both in-person and remote the Telco Cloud Architect will win the trust and confidence of their engineering, development and operations teams by aligning their requirements and use cases with the functional capabilities of the solution. The Telco Cloud Architect will have thorough working knowledge and hands-on experience with OpenStack and Openshift based cloud infrastructures to support applications providing virtualized network functions (VNF) to the telco industry.   Successful candidates will bring a wealth of industry experience and domain expertise to play a leading role in the design and project delivery of these business critical solutions, and therefore will need a strong working knowledge of Agile project methodologies, as well as DevOps models and technologies.

The Red Hat Telco Cloud Architect will also play a critical role in bringing together cross-functional teams from Red Hat’s product business units, product engineering, support, consulting, and sales to meet the needs of these demanding customers. He/She will act as a customer advocate with these organizations to architect the right solutions and to ensure that those solutions are implemented and supported in an innovative and reliable way.

What you will do

  • Winning the confidence of our prospective customers through the successful delivery of discovery, analysis and design workshops that shape and influence the customer’s use cases and architecture design decisions to align with the Red Hat solution.
  • Designing and scoping delivery projects as well as leading consulting teams through successful customer pilot and production deployments.
  • The design, creation and delivery of content that enables the broader Red Hat organization to sell (pre-sales), service (consulting) and support (CEE) our Telco solutions at scale.
  • Work closely with product business units, product engineering, consulting, support, and sales to ensure a world-class customer experience with Red Hat’s products.
  • Contribute to the development of repeatable methodologies and tools designed to scale Red Hat’s services capabilities, promote repeatable customer engagements, and lower delivery risk.
  • Demonstrate thought leadership in the Telco community by producing world-class white papers, webinars, etc. and speaking at industry leading conferences.

What you will bring

  • Specific knowledge in NFV/SDN area (benefits, technologies, key vendors, use cases).
  • Understanding of advanced networking concepts (VLANs, OpenVPN, iptables, dnsmasq, tunneling, overlay networking, OSI layer 4-7 services, topology discovery, path computation)
  • Familiarity with technologies like Open VSwitch, OpenFlow, OpenStack, AWS, etc.
  • Familiarity with networking protocols (TCP/IP, Ethernet, 802.1Q, GRE, VXLAN, L2VPN, MPLS, BGP, IS-IS, etc.;
  • Broad and deep technical experience with virtualization and cloud technologies (e.g. OpenStack, OpenShift, Software Defined Storage, Automation)
  • Specific knowledge in Mobile (4G, 3G, 2G) and Fixed networks (network architectures, service models, service provisioning);
  • Demonstrated knowledge of major industry standards: TMF, TNM, ETSI, ITU, 3GPP, ONF, ONRF, etc.
  • Deep understanding of ETSI NFV architecture and the Telco main use-cases (vCPE, vEPC, vCDN, vIMS, vRAN, etc)
  • Deep knowledge in telecom technologies, industry trends (network architectures, technologies, services) used in wireline, wireless, cable operators;
  • Strong Knowledge of Telco business processes related to BSS and OSS operations (eTOM, FrameworX, ITIL)
  • Strong background in consultative customer engagements with either a major systems integrator, a network equipment provider, or a telco services provider.
  • Proven track record of working in a strategic advisory capacity to senior Telco IT and business executives.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communications skills, including extensive experience presenting to C-level executives at large firms.
  • Solutions sales mentality in an environment with multiple products and services. 
  • Saudi nationality is mandatory
