Job Title: Logistics Operations Manager
Salary: £73,400 - £91,000 depending on experience
Location: Desford, Leicestershire
Contract: Full time & permanent
The Opportunity
As a Logistics Operations Manager you provide guidance and direction to a team of experienced Logistics Operations and Logistics Planning professionals to deliver operational performance and continuous improvement around critical KPI’s within a safety first and quality always, fast paced manufacturing logistics environment.
What You Will Do:
As Logistics Operations Manager, your accountabilities will include, but are not limited to:
Delivering short term annual goals built around employee safety and engagement as well as operational performance metrics across multiple logistics centres guiding a team of up to 300 logistics professionals.
Develop and execute short and medium-term strategic improvement programs focused on driving continuous improvement across the facility through a team of logistics planning engineers.
Support all facility initiatives including NPI programs through the demonstration of high levels of collaboration and values-based leadership within a lean environment.
Ensure process control and transactional discipline to deliver high level of inventory compliance and governance.

What You Can Demonstrate:
Logistics Management:
Develops and reviews logistics plans that affect production, distribution, and inventory.
Manages logistics processes through process improvement, prioritization, and project planning.
Consults on all major logistics processes, their interactions and operational requirements.
Leadership:
Coaches’ others on concepts and techniques as well as leadership behaviours
Advocates behaviours that inspire cohesiveness and move the organization to reach a vision.
Monitors industry for emerging trends and evaluates their suitability for implementation and then champions through to execution.
Leverages diverse styles to deliver results
Evaluates team member performance based on performance and supports their development to reach their full potential
Project Management:
Plan, estimate, staff, organize and monitor significant projects and identifies risks and vulnerabilities; creates contingency plans.
Conducts regular and ad-hoc project reviews with project team, sponsors, and clients by maintaining open communication among project participants and interested parties.
Warehouse Management:
Maintains warehouse equipment and facilities and assists in implementing mechanisation/automation approaches and techniques in a distribution center.
Evaluates the cost efficiency of warehouses and makes improvements as needed by consulting on alternative approaches to stocking and location control and their pros and cons.
Compares and contrasts different types of replenishment planning.
Coaches’ others on alternative distribution designs and considerations for demand and source locations.
Inventory Management:
Coordinates daily work of inventory management for different locations within a facility or a supply network.
Devises standard inventory management benchmarks to improve the processes by applying systems and processes to identify and coordinate inventory requirements; resolves conflicts.
Reviews reports used for inventory management to find out related problems.
What You May Have:
Degree or equivalent experience desired
Experience working in a fast paced and pressured environment
SAP transactional experience and in particular a history of successful SAP implementations
History of cultural change management
