About ThedaCare!

Summary :

The Driver meets the needs of residents and the facility by safely driving the company bus for scheduled events and activities. Assists residents with boarding and exiting the bus. Completes safety inspection of bus prior to and post use. Coordinates routine maintenance of bus.

Job Description:

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Transports residents to activities or appointments throughout the community to promote their health and wellbeing.

  • Assists residents entering or exiting the vehicle to ensure a high level of safety.

  • Maintains a schedule of outings and appointments as well as route information and weather conditions to ensure safety, timely departure and arrival, and excellent customer service.

  • Performs daily checks and coordinates routine maintenance according to Wisconsin mandated guidelines to ensure customer safety.

  • Records rider information that includes date, outing name, and list of residents. Tracks resident locations to document trends and transportation activities.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School diploma or GED preferred

  • Must be 18 years of age

  • Valid Wisconsin driver’s license appropriate for type of vehicle to be driven

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Ability to move freely (standing, stooping, walking, bending, pushing, and pulling) and lift up to a maximum of fifty (50) pounds without assistance

  • Job classification is not exposed to blood borne pathogens (blood or bodily fluids) while performing job duties

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Indoors/Outdoors

  • All weather conditions

in addition to the driver role you will also be assisting with activities and those duties include:

  • Leads groups, events, and activities throughout the community to increase psychosocial wellbeing and customer satisfaction.

  • Completes leisure assessments on new patients or residents to comply with state regulations and to make sure resident needs are met.

  • Assists with the development and implementation of a plan of care based on leisure needs and documents appropriately to meet state and federal regulations.

  • Assists in the planning and implementation of the monthly activity calendar to ensure residents are notified of upcoming activities and events.

  • Schedules entertainment and local groups that will enhance the customer’s experience.

  • Collaborates with multiple disciplines to ensure patient/resident needs are being met.
