Mission:
The Mold Setter helps the team reach its objectives. In addition, this job focuses on respecting safety rules, quality, production, operator training and the improvement of performance 

Duties & Responsibilities:

Quality:

• Help operators when they ‘stop at the first defect’

• First piece and hourly quality checks

• Assist with pre-analysis of end-of-line defects

• Check operation of self-quality systems; including self inspection by operators

• Assure that operating instructions provide appropriate and validated quality procedures

Production:

• Replace certain operators for short periods of time during the day, as necessary

• Make minor process adjustments

• Monitor tilt tables

• Prepare changeovers while the line is in operation/assists in changeovers

• Pull and set the molds 

Flexibility:

• Trains beginners and progressively trains team members to use other workstations until they have attained the required standards

Involvement and Safety:

• Ensures team members and themselves are following and adhering to safety policies and procedures

• Participate in purchasing activities as necessary

• Organize beginning –or end-of-shift meetings 

•  Make suggestions for improvement and monitors team participation on the Improvement Proposal process

• Facilitate the generation and implementation of suggestions for improvement

• Liaison with support team when suggestions for improvement cannot be treated by the APT

• Communicate effectively with supervisors and personnel regarding maintenance problems during the shift and reports status as required
