We are on the lookout for a proactive and detail-oriented Environment Compliance Coordinator to facilitate compliance and manage permitting/approval obligations on Acciona Energia’s operational sites (wind and solar farms). This role is ideal for a talented professional who has a proven background in environmental management, who is skilled at developing and executing operational management plans, conducting internal audits, and ensuring regulatory compliance of large assets. Renewable energy sector experience is helpful but not essential. We also welcome candidates from consulting, regulatory bodies, and other sectors with similar environmental permitting compliance requirements to our business.

Job Description

  • Oversee and ensure environmental and planning compliance, primarily for current operations but also across other phases such as development and construction, while adhering to EPBC, permits, and regulatory requirements
  • Provide strategic advice on environmental and planning matters
  • Conduct site audits, preparing detailed audit reports and tracking action items in consultation with site personnel
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with local, state, and federal government officials, as well as community representatives
  • Develop, maintain, and update Environmental Management Plans (EMPs), while coordinating specialist consultants to handle cultural heritage, landscaping, and avifauna management.

Required Skills and Competencies

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Management, Environmental Planning, or a related discipline.
  • Relevant experience managing operational management plans, conducting internal audits, and delivering regulatory reporting.
  • Strong understanding of Australian environmental obligations and EPBC regulations.
  • Demonstrated ability to negotiate successful planning outcomes with key government and non-government stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Current driver’s license and willing to travel to sites on an adhoc basis.
