Intern Conversion for Software Tools and Assurance Department within the Software Engineering Subdivision (SES) of the Information Systems and Cyber Division (ISCD). This position will be in El Segundo, CA.
Job Summary
Information Systems and Cyber Division (ISCD) staff couple the latest in information system technologies, such as elastic compute clouds, containerization, microservices, real-time operating systems, and visualization frameworks, with expertise in cyber security, software architecture, software engineering, data science, Artificial Intelligence, process improvement, and software development to deliver responsive, resilient, high-performance software intensive systems to our Intelligence Community, DoD, and civilian customers.

This position will be located 100% onsite in El Segundo, CA
What You'll Be Doing
Provide software development effort to a variety of Software centric projects with a strong emphasis on Open Source programming languages.
Participates with an interdisciplinary team in ongoing research or technical programs with academic collaboration partners.
Applies standard techniques and procedures to carry out a series of prescribed scientific and/or engineering tasks.
Training and mentorship will be provided.

What You Need to be Successful
Minimum Requirements:
Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering or related discipline from an accredited college/university program to be conferred within 12 months.
Prior internship at The Aerospace Corporation
Excellent problem-solving skills.
Hands-on expertise with application design, software development, and automated testing
Experienced in one or more common programming languages including Java, C/C++, and Python
This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance. U.S. citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.

How You Can Stand Out
It would be impressive if you have one or more of these:
GPA of 3.5 or higher
Experience in Full-stack web development.
Experience in model-based software engineering.
Experience in Agile software development.
Experience in distributed systems, cloud native application patterns and tools, micro services architectures, application migrations to any cloud platform.

Individual salaries within that range are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge and skills.
