POSITION SUMMARY:
The Product Manager leads the development of software products critical to the business operations and commercial success of Natera. The Product Management team works cross-functionally to define goals, ensure successful launches and monitor performance of our software applications spanning from the moment sequencing is complete to the generation of patient reports. This includes data analysis pipelines, genomics services, data review interfaces, and content and reporting management systems. Product Managers need to be able to understand both the business processes of the groups we work with, as well as the technical details of the software to be an effective liaison for our department. PMs discuss potential solutions, help drive decision-making, and prioritize, translate and document those conclusions into detailed use cases and detailed technical product requirements to bring the product vision to life. The PM is responsible for the entire product lifecycle from concept to obsolescence, evaluation, and prioritization of new features and programs, a creation of product requirements and monitoring product performance in the field. The role combines strategic thinking with execution and will require a strong cross-functional leader and influencer.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop and execute the product roadmap for Analysis Pipelines.
Deliver clear technical product requirements based on customer needs and operational limitations.
Maintain tracking of feature requests and prioritize those for development and release.
Develop quantitative product performance indicators, analyze and track performance data, and identify strategies for improvement across teams.
Effectively work with internal clinical domain experts, R&D and software development teams.
Create written, data-based arguments and presentations to achieve buy-in from stakeholders and facilitate better understanding and alignment.
Incorporate a focus on quality into product design, and work closely with development and software quality assurance, compliance and regulatory teams on product and process improvements.
Evangelize your products across the organization, drive integration and collaboration.
Become a subject matter expert on our software and create a shared understanding among business, clinical, and development teams - acting as liaison between teams and able to aid in tasks ranging from configuration to testing and support.
Provide internal and external stakeholders with the appropriate updates on progress, vision, product roadmap, etc.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in physical or life science, statistics, engineering discipline, or equivalent. Master’s degree or PhD preferred. MBA a plus.
5+ years of direct experience with software product management as a Product Manager, Product Owner. Certification a plus
Experience in creating software product requirements in a regulated environment
Experience with implementing bioinformatics analysis pipelines
Experience building applications using cloud technologies is a plus
Experience with oncology, women’s health, or organ health products and associated biology
Experience building enterprise software or business critical systems is a plus
Expertise and experience in the Life Sciences industry required.

Highly organized with ability to multitask. Be able to break down large projects into granular milestones and track progress
Proven excellence in both written and oral communications skill
Ability to collaborate and interact effectively with individuals, and influence individuals across functional areas and in team environments.
Proven organizational skills and extraordinary attention to detail, with an ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Very comfortable reading and writing technical documentation.
Familiarity with Next Generation Sequencing.
Will consider scientific or technical project leads for candidates coming from research and development roles.
