Summary of Job Duties:

UAMS Project Heal seeks a full-time (100%) Research Program Manager with expertise in intervention research and program coordination. The role involves overseeing multiple projects focused on community violence prevention among Arkansas populations affected by gun violence. Responsibilities include managing day-to-day operations such as scheduling team meetings, monitoring study activities, developing procedures, and ensuring data quality in databases like REDCap. The Program Manager will supervise Project Heal staff, coordinate communications, and support the investigator team in data collection, analysis, and dissemination. Experience in violence intervention projects and working with impacted communities is essential.


Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in public health, health behavior a health education, health services administration, health policy and management or related field plus one (1) year of program/project management experience in a community, clinical or academic health research program or

  • Bachelor's degree in public health, health behavior a health education, health services administration, health policy and management or related field plus five (5) year of program/project management experience in a community, clinical or academic health research program required.

  • Must have valid driver’s license, reliable transportation and valid auto insurance.

  • One (1) year of experience working on community-engaged and/or clinical research projects; firearm violence prevention research; hospital-based violence intervention programs.

  • Proficient with REDCap.

  • UAMS IRB Regulatory Systems.

  • Grants petty cash and budget management.

  • Task management software.

  • Qualitative and quantitative analysis software.

  • Program evaluation with both quantitative and qualitative data collection and analysis.

  • Demonstrated commitment to community-engaged, health equity, trauma-related research.


Additional Information:

Responsibilities:

  • Provide oversight of the daily operations of research and service projects, including the supervision of staff and coordination of all project activities.

  • General oversight of study products and deliverables, monitoring of budget expenses and purchasing of project materials and contracted services, etc.

  • Develop best practices and adopt these practices to be implemented as part of the standard study operating procedures.

  • Exercise management responsibility over administrative functions, including working with administrative and financial teams to oversee ordered materials and services and Workday approvals.

  • Work with investigator team to ensure day-to-day operations to support the needs of the project. Communicate with investigators and staff on all issues in a timely manner.

  • Create all meeting/training/workshop agendas and minutes (or delegation) for all study meetings and intervention events.

  • Coordinate follow up and monitoring of action items from all meetings.

  • Responsible for the oversight of all data collection procedures, recruitment activities, and intervention activities.

  • Work with study team to develop intervention objectives, intervention components, implement intervention, and monitor the fidelity of intervention delivery.

  • Oversee the implementation of recruitment and data collection activities of study staff, monitors progress, develop a scheduling and monitoring system with staff, help to problem-solve, and assist staff when needed. 

  • Provide regular written and oral reports, coordinates efforts across the project to document progress. Work with study staff to develop regular reporting systems and procedures.

  • Help write and develop the publications and/or presentation of research findings and program annual reports as appropriate.

  • Present at scientific meetings and training workshops.

  • Provide oversight of IRB protocols.

  • Provide oversight for project databases and performance metrics management.

  • Work with investigators to develop study protocols, data collection instruments, training materials, and train staff.

  • Work with investigators and study staff to develop secure systems for assuring the quality, confidentiality, and safety of the data and working with data manager to maintain appropriate study logs, records, and databases.

  • Assist with all mandatory reporting requirements.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.
