As a Mechanical Engineer on the actuation team, you'll drive the design of our next generation of warehouse robots. Your primary responsibilities will revolve around validating prototype actuators, refining them in partnership with global suppliers, and optimizing how we integrate them into our robot. We’re looking for somebody with a solid foundation in mechanical engineering, a proactive problem-solving approach, and effective collaboration skills. We're seeking someone who shares our passion for advancing robots to be reliable, scalable, and ready for widespread rollout.

In this role, you have the opportunity to:

  • Create detailed CAD models, drawings, specifications, assembly documentation, and comprehensive test plans to ensure robust performance of actuation systems.

  • Take the lead in troubleshooting issues, identifying root causes, and implementing effective corrective and preventative solutions to enhance overall reliability.

  • Work to optimize component designs, ensure quality standards, and streamline production processes. Collaborate with team members to ensure improvements benefit the whole system, satisfying any constraints.

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering with a minimum of 5 years of relevant industry experience or postgraduate education.

  • Proven track record (3+ years) in engineering mechatronic systems, demonstrating proficiency in integrating mechanical, electrical, and software elements.

  • Experience engineering motion control systems with actuators, sensors, bearings, and gearing.

  • Expertise in CAD (e.g., Catia, Solidworks) designing and drafting parts and assemblies, including rapid prototype and production-ready components.

  • Understanding of GD&T principles and experience in performing tolerance analyses.

  • Experience in data collection, analysis, and interpretation to drive informed design decisions and improvements.

  • Familiarity with transitioning early-stage designs through New Product Introduction, including defining and performing Engineering Validation Testing, and Design Validation Testing activities.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

We are interested in every qualified candidate who is eligible to work in the United States. However, we are not able to sponsor visas for this position.
