Job Summary

Job Description

Develop, design, and analyze motor components to ensure that they perform to stated strength, cost, and reliability requirements. Perform Finite Element Analysis (FEA) of the components, document the steps and results, and seek ways to improve efficiency of the design and analysis processes. Work with Project Manager and cross-functional teams to understand project goals, objectives, and the stated deliverables. Create new component and assembly drawings per established Standards and Guidelines. Create additional product specifications as required (e.g., material specs). Prepare reports and presentations for customers, both internal/external. Part-time telecommuting permitted.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree or the foreign academic equivalent in Mechanical Engineering.
  • 6 months of experience in an engineering occupation.

SKILLS:

  • 6 months of experience with analysis of structural stress, fatigue, vibration (modes), and thermal (Heat Transfer).
  • 6 months of experience with using Ansys Finite Element Analysis (FEA) software.
  • 6 months of experience with reading and creating Engineering specifications (drawings).
  • 6 months of experience with 2D/3D CAD software, PTC Creo (formerly Pro/Engineer).
  • 6 months of experience Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • 6 months of experience with Report Writing.
  • 6 months of experience in Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA).
  • 6 months of experience in Project management or previous experience working with cross-functional teams.

Any experience may be gained pre-Master’s and must be gained post-Bachelor’s.
