Job Description Qualifications:

The Boeing Company is currently seeking an Enterprise Data Governance Senior Manager to join the team in either Seattle, WA; Berkeley, MO; Mesa, AZ or North Charleston, SC

Boeing is strategically growing its capability around Data Governance. The Enterprise Data Governance Senior Manager is responsible for developing and implementing enterprise data governance strategies and frameworks to ensure the accuracy, integrity, and security of organizational data. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to establish data governance policies, procedures, and standards, as well as monitoring and enforcing compliance. The Enterprise Data Governance Manager will also oversee data quality initiatives, data classification, and data lifecycle management to optimize data usage and drive business insights. This position will collaborate with the businesses and functions and interact with the most innovative and diverse people around the globe and drive the Enterprise Data Governance function.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement data governance strategies, frameworks, and roadmaps to ensure effective management and utilization of organizational data

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define data governance policies, procedures, and standards, ensuring alignment with industry best practices and regulatory requirements

  • Establish and maintain a data governance framework, including data ownership, data stewardship, and data quality management

  • Monitor and enforce compliance with data governance policies and procedures, conducting regular audits and assessments to identify areas for improvement

  • Lead cross-functional teams in the development and implementation of data governance initiatives, ensuring alignment with business objectives and priorities

  • Define and implement data quality standards and metrics, establishing processes for data profiling, cleansing, and remediation

  • Develop and maintain data classification schemes and data dictionaries to ensure consistent and accurate data classification and labeling

  • Collaborate with Information Technology (IT) teams to implement data lifecycle management processes, including data retention, archiving, and disposal

  • Provide guidance and support to data stewards and data owners, promoting data governance awareness and fostering a culture of data accountability

  • Implement governance structures and frameworks on the platforms including oversight of data compliance of the platforms

  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies related to data governance, recommending and implementing improvements to enhance data management practices

  • Coach and mentors others

This position is hybrid. The selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options. This is at the hiring team’s discretion and could potentially change in the future.

This position must meet export control compliance requirements. To meet export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.15 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher

  • 5+ years of experience planning, creating, executing, and documenting master data management and data governance processes

  • 5+ years of experience within information technology

  • 5+ years of experience in working with Data Quality or Data Cleansing activities

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 5+ years of experience as a manager leading data governance or similar role

  • 5+ years of experience with government data rights and data rights assertion tables

  • 5+ years of experience performing data management

  • 5+ years of experience with project management

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.  

Summary pay range: $151,300 – $218,500
