Job Description:

Position Purpose:

The Project Coordinator will be performing research tasks primarily on projects aimed at reducing health disparities among ethnically diverse populations. Under the direction of the Principal Investigator (PI), the Research Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating various aspects of research projects, from planning to implementation and evaluation. The Project Coordinator will work closely with the research team and participants to ensure the project is completed successfully. 


These responsibilities include team management duties (such as coordination, scheduling, and supervision); oversee the data collection process, manage data quality assurance and data analysis; and develop material for participants or the research team. Much of the interaction with participants and data collection will be conducted in Spanish.  The project coordinator will also be involved in preparing data for presentation to community members or professional organizations, writing abstracts and articles for peer-reviewed manuscripts or for conferences. In general, the Project Coordinator will oversee IRB protocol management.

Major responsibilities include:

  • Coordinate research activities for applicable research studies. 70%

  • Manage Data and Conduct Data Analysis   15 %

  • Prepare Manuscripts and Abstracts     10 %

  • Assist with managing students, interns and research assistants  5%

Job Qualifications and Competencies:

Education

  • Master’s Degree in public health or other relevant health or other topic area, and 1-2 or equivalent combination of education and experience OR Bachelor’s degree and 2-5 years relevant experience.

Experience

  • 1-2 years’ experience in Public Health Research.

  • Experience with both qualitative and quantitative data collection and analysis.

  • Project coordination experience (preferred).

  • The candidate must possess a willingness and ability to support and promote a diverse and inclusive campus community.

  • Experience with dietary data assessment (preferred)

  • Knowledge of basic human subjects research procedures including quantitative data collection (surveys); qualitative data collection (interviews); developing study materials; obtaining IRB approval; 

  • Excellent verbal presentation skills, interpersonal skills, and written communication skills 

  • Willingness and ability to support a diverse and inclusive environment.

  • Fluent in Spanish (preferred)

This is hybrid eligible 

This position is a fixed-term research position with a current end date of March 31, 2026.  Position continuation is dependent on future funding.
