Position Summary

The Brown School’s ten-year strategic plan, Driving Equity 2030, sets a vision and strategy for the next 10 years. The Deans’ Office has led the collaborative strategic planning process since 2019 and is currently working on implementation.

The Project Coordinator will be a core member of an implementation team and work directly with the leads and the strategic plan leadership team. This position will primarily oversee the day-to-day management and execution of the implementation work plan for one or more strategic priorities. Key responsibilities include: collaborating with the implementation leads; staffing committees and workgroups; establishing and maintaining work plans and timelines; tracking, documenting, and communicating progress; contributing to specific action steps and deliverables; and serving as the liaison to multiple stakeholders within the team and across the university.

The Project Coordinator will also support special projects that are connected to the strategic plan. Key responsibilities include: supporting committees and subcommittees, handling logistics for meetings and event planning.

Job Description

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

Supports implementation of project plan - monitor, track and evaluate progress.

  • Along with Associate Dean works with the leads to refine and update the implementation plan, including identifying appropriate metrics and outcomes.

  • Update long- and short-term work plans including setting targets for milestones and adhering to deadlines.

  • Conduct literature reviews and prepare summaries.

  • Contribute to the execution of the implementation plan.

  • Update the implementation plan on a regular basis.

  • Track, document, and communicate progress in collaboration with the plan evaluators.

Conducts research, collect/analyze data, and oversee data entry.

  • Identify data needs and appropriate sources.

  • Conduct literature reviews and prepare summaries.

  • Works with Tableau and other programs for data visualization.

Develops project/program goals, objectives and plans in collaboration with management. 

  • Contribute to continuous quality improvement and activities to facilitate the utilization of data for decision-making.

Provides administrative/operational oversight of assigned program/project.

  • Manage and coordinate all activities, including managing and communicating changes in scope and timelines.

  • Serve as a contact for internal and external partners.

  • Provide support to the committees and workgroups, including developing agendas, materials, and summaries.

  • Maintain and update work plans and timelines.

  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation.

  • Schedule meetings and events.

  • Prepare regular progress reports.

  • Assist with planning and execution of events and meetings.

  • Collaborate with the strategic planning team to identify opportunities to coordinate and leverage efforts and resources.

May manage/oversee work of staff and/or student workers.

  • Delegate/assign tasks as appropriate.

Assist in development/management of department budget/finances.

Assist in other duties as assigned.

Salary Range

$49,700.00 - $82,100.00 / Annually

The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
