What is the FTI Business Analyst in Global Product - Product Devp & Implementation group responsible for?

  • This role offers the chance to advise and deliver strategic level change and transformation projects, often, but not exclusively, regulatory in nature and typically within the Product Development area of the business.  The role entails conducting business and impact analysis, analyzing business processes and investigating how they work, analyzing and developing business/technical requirements, discovering and developing effective ways of working, and recognizing and reporting risks, issues and dependencies.

What are the ongoing responsibilities of an FTI Business Analyst?

  • Leads cross functional project/program teams to identify, document and understand current and desired future state, with a view to addressing a business problem or emerging business needs 

  • Uncovers needs that business /technical partners and end users would struggle to articulate on their own, then uses appropriate tools to create diagrams that capture complex scenarios in order to present them in a structured way to facilitate stakeholders’ comprehension and discussions

  • Works with project teams to capture and assemble requirements and prioritizes competing business demands to ensure delivery of business value. Articulates benefits in business language and measures the contribution of projects to business outcomes

  • Optimizes prioritization of business needs by influencing business and technology partners' decisions to support iterative business value delivery.

  • Guides through ambiguity, change and complexity and leads the resolution of conflict, issues and risks to remove barriers within the project/program and team while continuing momentum

  • Leverages enterprise- or industry-specific best practices or lessons learned that impact the organisation

  • Demonstrates experience working in a project environment with different methodologies, such as Agile or Waterfall. The Business Analyst will be required to help drive the use of Agile methodologies.

  • Runs effective workshops

  • Develops and maintains implementation plans

  • Critically evaluates information gathered across multiple sources, reconcile variances, and recommend proposals

  • Possesses excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with an ability to quickly gain credibility with senior stakeholders

  • Displays strong client service and customer focus

  • Possesses strong problem-solving skills and an analytical mind-set

  • Solid understanding of project management and planning

What ideal qualifications, skills & experience would help someone to be Successful?

  • Industry experience with solid understanding of the investment management and financial services industry

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

  • Strong knowledge of investment products and product development experience

  • Knowledge of regulatory, industry rules, guidelines and standards

  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment

  • Desired skills:

    • Business Process Analysis & Re-engineering

    • Microsoft Office – particularly Visio, Powerpoint

    • IBM Blueworks Live

  • Desired Licenses (Desired but not required)

  • Certified Business Analysis Professional – IIBA

  • Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) - International Institute of Business Analysis

  • Certified Disciplined Agilist - Disciplined Agile Consortium
