There is an exciting opportunity within Industrial Power Systems Division (IPSD) - Sales, Marketing, Services and Parts- (SMSP) Business Unit. You'll have the unique opportunity to get close to our end customers, be a trusted business advisor, and assist in the management of multiple routes to market (CAT dealer, Perkins’ distributors and direct to OEMs).

This role will provide you exposure to IPSD's worldwide 3rd party and internal Cat Machine Group sales & margin reporting for both CAT and Perkins brands, IPSD's monthly Sales & Operations Forecast (S&OP) process, as well as active decision support for our leadership team. In addition, you'll have the opportunity to further develop your data analytic skills with access to software and training for tools such as Alteryx, Power BI, and Axiom.

What You Will Do

  • Demand Forecast Financialization (S&OP)
    • Working alongside the Demand, Supply Chain and Pricing teams in coordinating the financialization the demand forecast for the division.
    • Exposure to senior leadership team through review meetings and data requests.
  • Order Backlog Reporting
    • Monthly submission to the Securities & Exchange Commission - (SEC) Reporting team showing current engines Orders on hand.
    • Holding review meetings with Business Unit Controller and Divisional CFO
  • Legal Entity Margin Analysis (Revenue & Cost of Sale)
    • Completion of month end journal entries related to discount processes
    • Analyzation of margin results through tools such as QAD EE and Axiom
  • Alteryx team project lead
  • Utilizing data tools to initiate process improvement across the team
  • Ad hoc sales support

What You Will Have:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Managing Multiple Priorities: Knowledge of effective self-management practices; ability to manage multiple concurrent objectives, projects, groups, or activities, making effective judgments as to prioritizing and time allocation.
  • Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.
  • Financial Reporting: Knowledge of processes, methods, and tools of financial reporting; ability to create and maintain accurate and thorough financial reports.
  • Analytical Thinking: Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems.
  • Financial Analysis: Knowledge of tools and approaches of financial analysis; ability to read, interpret and draw accurate conclusions from financial and numerical material.


Top Candidates Will Also Have:

  • Experience with Alteryx or Axiom or Power BI

Additional Info:

  • This position will be located in our Seguin, TX office
  • This role is a full time, hybrid position and currently requires 3 days a week in office
