This role is critical to ensuring our organization remains aligned with federal and state-level laws, proposed legislation, and industry best practices.
Monitor, analyze, and interpret health care legislation and regulatory developments across all 50 states and Washington, D.C.
What you'll do...
ERISA Compliance:
Oversee the administration and compliance of all ERISA-related activities, including plan documentation, reporting, and disclosure requirements.
Stay current on ERISA, CAA, ACA, etc. regulations and ensure the company's benefits plans are in compliance with federal laws.
Advise and inform leadership of opportunities for improvement, and create solutions for ERISA compliance assurances.
Policy and Procedure Development:
Develop and maintain policies and procedures for ERISA.
Ensure documentation is comprehensive, up-to-date, and accessible to relevant stakeholders.
Compliance and Risk Management:
Conduct regular audits of processes to ensure compliance and mitigate risks.
Respond to regulatory inquiries and audits as needed.
Provide training and updates to staff and other stakeholders on regulatory changes and compliance requirements.
Reporting and Analytics:
Prepare and present regular reports on compliance activities to senior management.
Utilize data analytics to identify trends, areas for improvement, and opportunities for enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of benefits administration.
What you’ll bring…
Experience:
Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in benefits administration, with a focus on ERISA compliance and COBRA administration.
Qualifications:
Deep understanding of U.S. health care regulatory frameworks, including CMS quality strategies and Healthy People 2030 objectives .
Experience in multi-state policy analysis and compliance program development.
Proven ability to interpret complex legislation and translate it into actionable organizational policies.
Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
Skills and Competencies:
Paralegal or Health Care Administration experience
In-depth knowledge of ERISA and COBRA regulations and compliance requirements.
Proficiency in reading and comprehending lengthy and complex legal documents.
Experience in drafting and editing professional documents.
Strong cross collaboration skills.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
High level of integrity and confidentiality.
Attention to detail.
Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite.

The annual salary range for this position is $90,000.00-$180,000.00
Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
