Job Summary:

Oversees information technology related activities within assigned scope of responsibility for a team of individuals who analyzes, designs and configures packaged software products to meet business implementation needs. Provides oversight and direction regarding assigned team, financial and operational activities.


Principal Responsibilities:

  • Manages and oversees the analysis, design, creation and implementation of database configurations based on application designs and specifications.
  • Uses knowledge of business functions and processes, configures and may design products, functionality of software packages and implementation tools and methodology to configure packaged software products to meet business requirements and specifications.
  • Manages and ensures the overall effectiveness of software systems and proactively evaluates, recommends and implements cost effective improvements.
  • Oversees the evaluation of hardware specifications and/or software technology against existing and future needs.
  • Manages the team which monitors, evaluates and reports on the ongoing performance and capacity of assigned area(s) of the computing environments (software and hardware specifications) in order to ensure business requirements are met.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Job Level Specifications:

  • Coordinates and supervises the daily activities of business or technical support teams comprised of individual contributors. Sets priorities for the team to ensure task completion. May coordinate work activities with other supervisors.
  • Directs routine and repetitive operations of team.
  • Assignments are largely established in accordance with schedules and deliverables. Decisions are guided by policies, procedures and business plans.
  • Collaborates daily with direct reports and peers within similar functions primarily for the purpose of exchanging information.
  • Decisions have a direct impact on team operations. Erroneous decisions or failure to achieve results may cause delays in schedules and require the allocation of additional time, people and/or financial resources.


Work Experience:

  • Typically 4+ years relevant work experience


Education and Certification(s):

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience from which comparable knowledge and job skills can be obtained.


Distinguishing Characteristics:

  • Expertise in ABAP programming language, including object-oriented programming
  • Knowledge in FIORI development is an added advantage
  • Knowledge of BAPIs, RFCs, and SAP function modules 
  • Experience with data migration and interface development
  • Understanding of user exits and BAdIs (Business Add-Ins) 
  • Familiarity with SAP modules like Finance (FI), Materials Management (MM), and Sales and Distribution (SD) 
  • Conduct code reviews, technical solution review and guide junior resources in the area.
  • Adhere to best practices in the industry.
