The Director of Product Management will be tasked with leading and managing a team of Product Managers across various injection molding product lines. This role involves collaborating with other injection business leaders to ensure business performance metrics such as revenue, profitability, and market share are met. The Director will also contribute to setting the strategic direction for our Injection Mold Machinery business.

Key responsibilities include developing departmental plans, training and upskilling team members, leading strategic market assessments, and participating in customer visits. The Director will also lead regular strategic planning exercises, establish and maintain best-in-class processes and tools, and oversee demand planning of Sales and Operations Planning (SIOP) for Injection.

The successful candidate will demonstrate strong cross-functional collaboration skills and lead by example. They will work with their team to develop and implement sales strategies, identify potential customers or markets for business expansion or contraction, and assist in managing existing customer relationships with our Sales leaders.

This role will sit in our Milacron Headquarters at our Batavia, Ohio location. Relocation assistance may be considered for candidates outside of the Cincinnati Metro area.

Travel required up to 25%. International travel is possible and therefore passport is desirable.

Work You’ll Do:

  • Lead and manage commercial activities for Injection Molding Product Lines, including strategy, marketing, and technical/operational execution.
  • Create a strategic marketing plan and lead annual strategic plans, while taking ownership of financial and key performance indicators.
  • Manage the forecast for Injection sales opportunities in collaboration with Injection Sales Leaders and set competitive pricing & policies.
  • Develop pricing schemes to maximize profitability and manage new product development budgets.
  • Participate with sourcing employees to ensure cost competitiveness and high-quality components.
  • Develop customer-specific strategies and manage key account relationships while maintaining significant industry relationships.
  • Ensure commercial logistics are in place to respond to customer requests, quotations, technical issues, etc.
  • Drive new product development programs and regular reviews to maintain a competitive advantage.
  • Coordinate necessary equipment and staff for Factory Approved Trials (FAT) and ensure proper training programs are developed for customers and Milacron employees.
  • Extensive travel to customers, suppliers, strategic partners, etc., and attend trade shows, seminars, and conferences.

Basic Qualifications:

  • BA/BS in marketing, industrial, manufacturing or mechanical engineering with business administration studies
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive leadership/management with commercial experience
  • Proven experience developing constructive and cooperative working relationships with others and maintaining them over time
  • Knowledge and understanding of principles and methods for showing, promoting, and selling industrial, capital products and services, plastics preferred
  • Knowledge of business and operational processes; proposal development, contract negotiations and program management

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree, preferred
  • Previous experience with plastics molding and manufacturing processes, preferred
  • In depth understanding of plastic composition, molds, blow molding processes
